Bug in Game

fleet lock up

this morning while playing, I was clicking on a factory rebuilding some ships (I was hosting game) during that time my Cap ship Max went to -1 and my fleet capacity went to about 30.

It took me over 30 min to unravel what was going on. I did not figure out how it happened but the solution to ending it was to remove a cap ship from production. But why did this happen in the first place?

also I am reasonably certain, but not 100% that research was also halted during this time.

I only noticed the research as the fact that when I figured out how to get the ships building again that I was way behind everyone else in research.

Did you upgrade your Cap ship requirement, and start building or queuing a cap ship without the upgrade being finished yet? The cap ship indicator will become -1, -2, so on depending on how many times your upgrade with out being finished before queuing up that number of cap ship.

After the upgrade completes, it would increase to 0, and the factory will start building the ship. Also, cap ship need a lot of logistics, so building one cap ship will need 1 cap ship point and about 60 (i don't remember) fleet logistic points.

This is all based on when you had maximum cap ship already constructed before upgrading, in other words, cap ship point is 0 before you upgrade and queued.

Well, i've only noticed negative capacity numbers when i've qued capasity research and ships. If you have a replay of that game you might be able to see wath was going on.

I understand all that ... the problem was that production locked...

nothing was moving forward, no research, no development, nothing.. It was going on for about ten min before I noticed that my ships were being destroyed but nothing was being rebuilt and my available fleet capacity was not going up..

In a game that kind of thing can cause you to lose real fast. The people that I was playing with stopped shooting at me so that I could take the time to examine what was going on.

things like that should never occur. If you end up with a neg cap limit for what ever reason it should not cause all production to stop, it should not cause you to not regain fleet capacity as you continue to play. when I backed off the cap ship production my available fleet capacity jumped up to 1013 and my cap ship limit jumped up to 7 (where it should have been). This happened when I canceled the production of 3 cap ships in 2 factories.

Remember this froze all the production for me in the game. (ship wise) my money and mateials continued to grow.
