Bug: Reduced cost of planet upgrades takes a while to apply. and other capital based colonizing bugs

If I colonize a planet with a capital ship colonizer that gives a % decrease in cost of planetary upgrades it takes a while to kick it.

For example, I use a mothership with a level 2 colonize giving me 40% cost reduction for 480 seconds (I think its 480 seconds... level 3 gives you 600 seconds, of that I am certain).
I open up the planet upgrade and I see full price, I hover the mouse and wait... if I was to click then I WOULD pay full price, after about 10-20 seconds the price updates with the lower price...

It took me a while to realise it, so for a while I was opening the planet upgrade as fast as possible after colonizing and immediately purchase all upgrades to "save money" where in fact I was paying full price.

I have also noticed that if I cancel an upgrade I will NOT be refunded the full price...
I just purchased a planet upgrade at a reduced price, canceled after about 2% were constructed, and clearly saw that I received less then I put in (since I didn't have enough to buy it a second time)... since you cannot switch construction order, if you have chose to build up the entire planet and decide you need to have logistics or health done FIRST then you have to cancel a bunch of upgrades, loose tons of money, and then add them back again.

Also the advant tech that reduces the cost of searching planets "stacks" with a capital's ship cost reduction to give you a price of 0 of everything to search planets....

And the tec freebie is the worst of them all... not only do free resource collectors not even come CLOSE to cost reduction. (20, 40, and 60% cost reduction on purchasing planetary upgrades... the tec gets a discount on purchasing astroid miners and gets 0/1/2 free based on level)... But also the "free" ones are almost always wasted on enemy planets because the ships will bombard it and colonize it automatically before the enemy extractors were destroyed, so none are built.

The whole notion of getting a timed resource descrease is silly, and I have abandoned planets with little to no upgrades to settle them again for the cost reduction and then bought all the upgrades (it can cost a LOT to buy all of those...)
It would have made a lot more sense if there was a passive decrease in cost for planets that have that ship in orbit... that is, buying an upgrade while your mothership is orbit around a plent = discount...
And for the tec the colonizer should build free extractors AND capture ones in astroid belts... it would still not be even close to the usefulness of the other two race's colonizer capital ship.. but that is ok... balance is an overall faction thing, not having the exact same abilities with different name and graphics. The tec colonizer has the ion canon and the ability to increase damage, so its the most useful for combat of the three colonizers.

I think there was another bug but I forgot...

so, anyone can confirm this bug? Or note that it has been seen by developers and will be addressed?

I can confirm this. I've noticed it with the Advent colonization cost reduction, and the TEC free mines. I don't know if the Vasari have the same problem with the build speed increase, but since the other two are glitched, it would make sense.

oh, I found another related bug. The advant colonized a nearby astroid, I immidately killed it and colonized it with a vasari colony frigate and I go a 20% cost reduction on all purchases despite being the vasari and despite colonizing with a frigate. The bonus should have died with the planet.

I don't think its a bug per say, it seems they all have a cooldown. Its not mentioned but it seems accurate and intended, especially as the 'free' extractors take about as much time to appear as they do if you had used a constructor to build them (with the speed upgrades)

Makes sense from a realistic standpoint, even if you killed the colonists and infrastrucutre all those extra supplies they sent down will still be there to be used by whoever mops them up. That said, it probably is unintended. Seems like it acts a temporary planet trait - no matter who owns it.

it IS a bug. They have a time limit until the bonus expires, but the bonus is not available for a little while after colonization. This means you:
1. Either loose some time (if it expires 3 minutes after as it should, but starts 1 minute after, then you loose a minute), or get shifted time (it starts one minute too late, but gives one minute extra, so your overall time since colonization till expiration is stretched)
2. You will miss out on the bonuses by upgrading too early. Any player NOT aware of this bug and who hasn't memorized the price list will be paying more then he should trying to upgrade all the facilities on the planet quickly.

The other thing I have a problem with is if I use Hystaria on a planet I plan to colonize, I have to wait until the thing stops to colonize it, because my ships seem to love killing off my own populations. That needs fixing.

ah, i see penalties also pass on to the next colonizer then. I noticed that you can "steal" bonuses from the enemy by killing a freshly colonized planet and then colonizing it, giving you speed or cost bonus to planetary structures. I didn't know penalties also carried over.
