How to increase fighter view distance, partcle view distance?

It annoys me how close you have to be to see most ships shooting each other and to see fighters/bombers and their trails.

How do I increase this?

It'd be great if the distance before things turned into icons were configurable in an .ini file or something. I'd like to see the 3D fighting from further out too.

Also, there are people with lower spec machines who'd like it stay as icons for longer, e.g. https://forums.sinsofasolarempire.com/?forumid=408&aid=178064

What'd you say Ironclad? Replace a constant with an ini variable?

Yeah that's what I meant.. I thought there would be an ini value for this. I checked user.settings and camera.settings or whatever.
