Random crashes, no apparent reason

The problem is fairly simple, the game crashes to Desktop after a few minutes, no error messages or anything, and the game was running fine up to the crash. Then it just closes and I'm staring at my desktop.

To make matters wierder, the game's been running fine for the past 2 days, I've had 1 crash, but that's all. Now every game I start I get the same thing, few minutes into the game and then a crash.

I'm running a 2.40 GHz Intel Celeron, 1 GB RAM, ATI Radeon 9200 128 MB, Windows XP.
The computer is otherwise fine and I have no problems with other games or programs. SoaSE also runs fine, at least I've had no problems for the past few days. This is the only piece of software that's been glitching...

So just to clarify, you launch the game - get past the menu, start a new (solo/network/ico) game, 2-3 minutes later it just ctd's? (crashes to desktop)

No errors or anything, haven't installed "anything" over the last day or so?

Might be an idea to check your application event logs in the eventvwr (event viewer) to see if it shows any errors regarding that app, flagged with a yellow/red marker

Yep, launch the game, get past the menu, new game (solo), a few minutes into the game (which is running fine up to that point) a kick to the desktop, no messages or anything. And SoaSE is the last thing installed on my comp.

How do I check the event logs?

Do start > run

type in:

eventvwr

That'll bring up, the event viewer, down the left hand side depending on your operating system it'll show application/system/security.

It'll be under either application or system depending on what caused the issue, so get the time that it ctd'd and look it up.

It might say something useful about a driver, or it may just do what it always does and tell you "sins.exe exitted" :(
