Uh, exactly what were you disappointed in? Posting without details does not really help Stardock make the game better nor gives folks who are deciding whether to buy the game any information.

"Not related to Isaac Newton, I am sure."

I'm not so sure about that; I think he may have been hit on the head a time or two too many. ;)

announcement for immediate release

frobozz & flathead scientific have developed a new starbase module which when activated will fire anti Troll missiles. This weapon renders the keyboard of the troll useless and also sends the offending troll into a harry potter movie where he most likely belongs

this board is a lot less cluttered than moo board, have been a regular there, and it is an all out war some places. There are too many fanboys over there hopefully we can keep this nice and constructive

uh... they been doing Haiku over there on the moo bored -er- board.

Not everyone who likes MoO3 is a "fanboy." And, not everyone who likes it is automatically opposed to liking Galactic Civilizations.

Well I think there is a certain segment of the MOO3 players who are bitter bitter bitter about how GalCiv turned out cool, and MOO3 turned out stinky. I really expected this kind of trolling only because I know what they've been like over at IGMOO. I wish it wouldn't happen tho, because GalCiv is awesome, and it's still possible MOO3 can be saved.

But there just isn't any way someone who likes this kind of game can be *that* disappointed with GalCiv. Especially with the level of support it has gotten. Class A job.

I think its very funny how people that like MOO3 are fanboys and people that like Galciv arent... :notsure:

Many MOO3 players LOVE MOO3, and are very very peeved at the trolls who come to the Moo3 boards to say galciv is sooo much better and call them fanboys for liking it (when its just a matter of preference, they are very different games) so feel very much at liberty to do the same in return.

I have both games and I really dont like galciv either (though I plan to work on it until the moo3 patch comes out at least ;p ) but it feels very fake and unimmersive.

meh,, never thought I'd participate in a troll/fanboy/flame/game advocacy thread, but just for kicks...

Moo3 AI - no challenge, plays to lose.

GalCiv AI - makes me wake up in cold sweat at night and think of possible strategies I could have used, cause it's so damn good and is getting better with updates

therefore, as you can plainly see, Moo3 is crap, and GalCiv is great.

therefore, the originally suggested notion that GalCiv is crap is incorrect.

QED. :p
Well, the 'it is crap' arguement could always be refuted with arguments used to defend a certain other space-strategy game out there.....

**sarcasm starts*

1. "Give it a chance, try it for a week, it'll grow on you..."

2. "Wait for the patch" (oh.. wait.. the first patch for GalCiv is already out... :D

3. "(Insert Game Name Here) is totally revolutionary.... it's quite deep and complex.. some people just won't be able to think 'outside the box' enough to be able to enjoy it."

Yea moo3 needs a patch for its AI aggressiveness (player mods out do a very good job of correcting this though troop invasions still need to be fixed) but its hugely deeper and more convincing a universe then the flakey comedy world of galciv. Galciv is chess like in its simplicity and depth which I will say is quite an accomplishment (I'm not trolling ;) ) and the devs are quite good (kudos to them) but if it doesnt convince me that I'm running a stellar empire except very superficially. :(

Oh wait, i'm talking to frothing fanboys, nm. LOL

You're not trolling, hmmm... I just replied to one of your trolling remarks in another thread. You think chess is simple, huh? ;p

Enough said.

I really do believe the best way to handle trolls is to ignore their posts. Now if only I had the discipline...
