A non-accusatory subject heading

Hello to Brad and all the other designers. Just wanted to say how amazed I am at the speed and thoroughness with which you folks both respond to player inquiries and update the game. There have been, what, _four_ updates made available over the past ten days or so? Considering as how game design isn't even your primary day job, the effort you folks put into supporting Galactic Civilization is nothing short of remarkable. I hope you'll keep visiting the forum and making comments as your time allows.

Sincerely,
Chris Vincenti

P.S. This is in direct response to the "Brad- Come Clean" thread and the postings therein.

I agree... it's a great effort by Brad and all the other Stardock people. Great support here, and on IRC.

And an awesome game, which with this kind of support will get even better!

Thanks to Brad and company for stealing so many hours from my life with this fantastic 'Galactic Civilizations'!

:)

Absolutely. I guarantee there will be some MOO defenders that are so disgruntled, they will feel the need to blather on cluelessly. Just don't feed the flames.. laugh 'em off the board.

Thanks guys, we really appreciate your support. It's been great fun and we have some really exciting things coming up for next week such as:

+ ability to toggle between planet list and mini map when looking at a planet.

+ ship automatically leave orbit option

+ some new events and technologies

+ Possibly some [?] buttons by things such as approval to help you understand why a certain value is something. I.e. explain how you got to that number.

+ AI enhanced further

Thanks. And please, no nasty comments about MOO3 fans. I am one of many who greatly enjoys both games. (I also believe Lite beer tastes great AND is less filling.)

Actually, that thread was tittle "Brad - please Come clean" ;)

Alright, I admit it was an ill chosen title - mia culpa, however my intent wasn't to accuse, but to obtain definate answers, in part to put a stop to all the accusations of AI cheating.

BTW I don't own MOO3, and am enjoying GalCiv quite a bit.

OMG! Yes! The first suggestion I just asked for a day ago- thanks for adding it in just for me! :) Though dealing without it taught me a few other novel ways to use the interface features that I didn't know were there- there's a lto of ways to do any one thing.

And rock on with the AI, man!

I'm wondering if it wouldn't be possible to get a "ALL ships of the *selected* type" leave orbit button somehow, though. That would be pretyy helpful too.

Did I mention: "OH YEAH, ROCK THE HOUSE WITH THE AI!" yet? :CONGRAT: :CONGRAT: :CONGRAT: :CONGRAT:

Padlock,

*mea* culpa, man, *mea*.

3 years of that rot ought to be good for something. :notsure:

Ditto what everyone else has said. The pre- and post-game information and support from Stardock has been nothing less than fantastic. Thanks for the hard work.

Wow, all that echoing and no one's used "ditto" yet? Allow me...

Ditto.

Great work Brad, et al. The only reason I'm here posting this is and not playing is that I find it hard to eat pizza and play at the same time. :)

I hate to be unoriginal, but... I have to agree with the rest of this thread. Wonderful game, and I'm amazed at the quality and quantity of the support. You guys at Stardock already have my money, and I'm recommending GalCiv to every lover of strategy games I know.

I agree with all the praise as well and I urge you not to take things too personally, Brad. I think most of us understand that you don't owe us your presence here by any means. I'm incredibly impressed at how much you post here and how many questions you answer. And I'm even more impressed at the sheer number of updates you've already released to this great game. You guys weren't kidding when you said we'd get a *full* year of free updates to the game. :)

The only way it could have been better is if it was hand delivered to my door - and came with someone (preferably feminine and scantily dressed) to do the housework I'm let slide while I play the game.

Awesome job. Awesome support.

Howdy,

If y'all don't mind, I'm coming out of the darkness of lurkdom to add to this. Frankly, the attention by Mr. Wardell to this board alone has convinced me to buy the game, though after experience with a recent 4x fiasco I'd sworn I wouldn't buy any game out less than 3 months. And I plan to download it, because I want to support this company directly, not via middlemen.

I've followed the progress here closely for about 2 months now, and have continued to be impressed by the grasp of customer relations and management demonstrated by Stardock, as well as the generally mature manner in which posters here express themselves; methinks the two are not inseperable.

Well done, SD, and very refreshing to witness.

Yay - that is great news! Very nice to hear :)

In order to avoid cluttering up the interface with too many buttons, I'd suggest either hyperlinks (click on the line with approval rating to pop up a new window with more info about it), or mouse-over popups (like in Europa Universalis 2).

But I am sure that whichever way Stardock ends up doing it will turn out great... this level of support just keeps on amazing me!
