Stardock subscription = galciv2.com?

I bought the whole Stardock package when I decided to buy GalCiv, maybe a month before GC was out. Does this give me access to GalCiv 2 forums and website?

I tried with the email address I use for Galciv.com, but it didn't worked (maybe I used another to subscribe...).

You need to have Altarian Prophesy the expansion + Galciv to get access to the site

TG.Net subscribers should probably have access as well.  I'm not sure how it checks to see if you have access.  If it's a registry thing, your profile isn't showing me your serial number, so maybe you should go into SDCentral and re-enter your info under the Tools->Register Products to make sure that it can pick it up.

It says I don't have an AP registration either (pre-release Drengin.Net subscriber whose (now TG.Net) account expired just under a month ago).

Then I am not alone with a expired TG.net account and the small problems with this ^^. I.E. No new Patch for GalCiv or any other game from this abo except Stardock bring them to download via Web and also no access to the GalCiv2 webpage.

They changed the Drengin.net to TotalGaming.Net ; I think you'd have to re-buy the subscription or renew it? Perhaps ask cari_elf :)

T-man recently fixed a bug in the login system for GalCiv2 that may have been causing the problem. Try deleting your cookies and then try logging in again.

erm... All places where I click are now "The page cannot be displayed". Did T-man deleted the whole website except the homepage by the same occasion? ;p

It wasn't. Now, the situation is that I can log in, but it wont let me enter the forums or anything, saying that I didn't buy Altarian Prophesy.

erm... I don't have access to my own computer since a long while. And I wont for the whole year. So I don't know if I actually got Altarian Prophesy while I know I got the very late demo version.

Hmm....not finding you in the registrations for the metaverse.  You'll have to e-mail sales or support...or use sdc to look up your serial numbers.

I've got a funny one...

I purchased GC in Store.
Then I purchased AP over the net and downloaded...

I have registered AP with SDC and that works fine getting updates etc.

But I can't register GC.
I emailed support and they said that I must go register online to their website, so I did that

Still doesn't work.

I made sure to use the correct email address.

Its not a major problem because I am playing AP, but every time I open SDC it tries to get the new stuff for GC which it then cannot do. (your email does not match our records, blah blah blah)
Its a little irritating...

I suppose I could just switch that off but It would be nicer to have all the latest stuff.

CariElf, I never subscribed to the metaverse. I'll contact by email and give my serial number, pass and everything (when I'll have time: exams now).

Thanks for your help

GalCiv2.com gives me this when I try to log in: 'Sorry, we cannot locate your registration for Altarian Prophecy.'

In my case, it might be because my Drengin.net account expired last month, but it might be nice if it mentioned that instead of insisting that I'm not registered....

Well I guess that my Drengin account expired... but still I remember that I had Altarian Prophecy on my account (sadly, I do not have access to my own comp since months).

I have the same problem, I have the total gaming subscription and as soon as I type in my usernam eand password I get server errors.

It happens on multiple PC's both at work and at home :p

All I can suggest is e-mailing [email protected].  They should be able to help you, or forward it to the developer who will (not me when it comes to web issues).

Looks like it's bad news. I have an expired totalgaming sub - I have Galciv, plus ALtarian Prophecy, butnow the sub has expired:

I can't get patches (although I can see them)
I can't download anything, even games I owned through Drengin, deleted to make space, and now try to download again. I paid for those games - why take them away from me?

If I ever need to re-install GalCiv I can't - an expired sub seems to mean you don't own it anymore.

I emailed support, and am waiting on a response, but it's not looking good.

No, you do still own it.  There is supposed to be a way for you to get the last version before your subscription expired, but I guess it isn't in place yet.  Support will be able to take care of it.  If nothing else, we can provide you with a private link to download it, or send you a CD.

End of quote

I guess for this bevahior to work you need:
- to memorize what game a user have download (for being able to redownload the game after a hard sik crash)
- have all versions of the files on line, with the associated xml file, in order to find and recover the version that was available when the subscription ended
