Trade Goods Limitations ?

I've started changing things here and there in the data files (cautiously since there's no edit guide and/or editor out yet) and was wondering if the number of Trade Goods is hard coded. I know each has its own ID but are these IDs related to the tech ids etc ? I'd like to create new ones.

Also, are the existing TG used anywhere in actuality ? I mean on my trade page I don't see any mention of those I've either aquired through trade or developed myself.

Finally are the TG linked in any way with the galactic resources you control ? Thanks

Once you have the Trade Good, its bonus is added to your empire's Stat screen. A good way to see which goods you've built is to speak to another empire and look at the Trade Goods portion of the screen.

They're not linked to galactic resources, but the benefits are cumulative.

Also, how does trading them work? In my last game, I just built them for the benefit to my empire. I see they're an option in the diplomacy screen - are they just something you can share with AI players in return for loot/tech/etc? Do you get to keep the benefit while you trade them? Etc.

Yes you keep the benefit. You are in effect licensing the other civ the right to Make it. Kinda like McDonalds telling Burger King they can make Big Mac's and call them that :P

You call also make GREAT money out of these, often several hundred bc's per turn for over 20 turns.

They are VERY handy items. Also the empire you sell them too is NOT allowed to sell them to any others. It's your private comodity. Or it will be when that bug is fixed... Right now the AI can make them too. Sigh.
