IMHO, I like the Stardock Central client...

It refreshes much faster than my normal web browser and auto updates the threads. I expect the chat feature will get used a lot as the game releases. As I posted in the WinCustomize Forum, (ya and there is a GalCiv Strategies forum there too.) a lot of my screen is black print on white background. May be just my system. Stardock Central Ver. 0.92.123
All in all, worth the download.

Reminder from inside right click on the GalCiv forum button and select "Reset List" Thats how you get the other GalCiv forum.

Except that it crashes and/or makes my system unstable. If I leave the client up overnight, usually my box is unresponsive in the morning (Win98SE). And, the other day when it updated followed by a restart of the client, it asked for my username/password again. After I entered it and clicked OK, it crashed again.

SDCentral is still very new and in Beta. If you have SmartException installed and it crashes it creates an exception report in a flie "C:\program files\common files\Stardock\SmartException\SDCentral.exe.cra. These exception reports can be sent to Pat Ford ([email protected]) or Brian Harper ([email protected]). They have already fixed a number of crashes I have reported to them.
