FAQ: Availability in Europe and elsewhere

Galactic Civilizations should be at most retail outlets in North America on the 26th.

Strategy First, our publisher, is handling the distribution agreements in Europe, Australia, and elsewhere and we don't have precise information on availability there other than "as soon as possible".

Those users who can't wait for local availability can purchase it directly from us. We will ship the CD package anywhere in the world for $10 and you can download the game in the meantime. Shipping to Europe usually only takes 3 to 5 days based on our prior experience.

In fact I've submitted that (availability at Okaysoft) as 'News' some time ago. I don't know why they've chosen to ignore it... I'd guess they try to get as much people as possible to order directly from Stardock.

Actually, we're trying to get people to order from other retailers, or we would have been accepting orders direct all this month. :)

hi
when you ship to Europe I guess since we're paying for the download the customs value of the CD will be zero? Yeah, I know, common sense and the law don't always meet up
cheers Rob Morton
Thank &deity - I was starting to consider re-installing OS/2 so I had a decent game to play

I've purchased the download edition today - it should hopefully have finished downloading by now (I'm in work, left the download going at home ...)

If at a later stage I decide that I want the CD, can I pay the extra $10 then and receive a copy?

If you have a cd writer at home or at work, you can always burn it onto a cd...

Sorry, Slitherin, I've stopped looking. :notsure:
Have you got an EB near you? I'd suggest pestering them about it. :)

I checked my local store and they hadn't even heard of it. Since I've got no credit card I'm stuck waiting until they get it. (Belgium)

My local store now has 1th april as the date; he mentioned some problems getting the US version from infogames...

Well, I'll wait until end of this week then I start downloading!

I emailed gamesmarket.com.au asking about an Australian release date, and they said there wasn't one yet... but they said they're looking at sourcing it from overseas.

If more people email them, they're probably more likely to go ahead... ;)

Same here Slitherin. However, I bought mine from ebgames.com.

I'm from Perth and I doubt the game will ever be released in Perth. I had to order SEIV directly from Shrapnel which cost me $115Aus.

Cheers

PS. Maybe we should start an empire on the metaverse called "The Aussies"? :D

Anything more about a release in the UK? I can't order it as I haven't got a Visa card so cannot buy online.

Is there a chance it will be on sale on the shelves in the UK?

Thanks.

I keep watching the online stores in the U.K. but there is no sign of it, so far.
You, LincolnshireLad, could get a debit card, couldn't you? I have one a quite often prefer to use it because it has a much lower limit than the credit card. My wife was the victim of a bag snatcher a few months ago and all her cards disappeared. They turned up about a couple of hours later in a petrol station about 10 miles away. There apparently had been an attempt (unsuccessful) to use one credit card.
