Cringe in fear do gooders. The G.R.O.S.S. (Get Rid Of Slimy alienS) empire is now formed. In less than an hour we have jumped 95 other Pacifist Doo Gooder victim empires and lept into 40th out of 135 ranked.

We are an evil empire bent on controlling everything and showing all the other empires out there who's boss. US. Are you listening Euro-"Oh lets let everyone be a senator and give em a vote doo gooder democracy alliance?" We come for you.

For a limited time, (untill I decide otherwise) 5 Pure Evil games, (or just impressing me with your game evilness) submitted will get you a Senatorship. Later, being the evil empire pyramid scheme we are, it will take 10. Of course, being the evil empire we are, that gives you no benefits, no pay, but all the alien carnage you crave most.

Now we do realize that sometimes, you just have to fake being good. You sometimes just have to infiltrate that pacifist party. We understand. But we aren't a kinder gentler empire and don't let their pacifism go to your head. And just sometimes, you gotta let the Aliens live (where else would you find slaves for the heavy metal lava mines?)

In the future, we shall update each other in the empire via this thread, brag of our conquests, drink blood wine, and generally just poke fun (creatively and humorously) at those players whom we find to be too goody goodyish.

Its funny, Pontius. After sending you that post, it hit me that most of the IG members are not active and it would be weird trying to do what I'm trying to do.

So I've quit IG and going to start my own empire. Anyone knows how I can do up the empire logo? Get something I can donwload from the web into a 32x32 jpg?

Good players need not be top scorers, Gerakken. Don't think I will be in your sights anything soon. Save your ammo for the big boys upfront ;)

Alright you pack of whining girls! You bunch of pimped up brownnosers! You've all just made a REALLY BIG mistake by showing the finger to ANZACs! I was just about to leave the office in order to jump off the Harbour Bridge when I read your EVER SO provocative bleeting. As I live and breath you will NEVER beat the ANZACs! >:(

Update

I have complete one game under the new version. However can not seem to post it the metaverse. This problem seem to start after purchase drengin.net upgrade from Gal Civ. Any idea??

I was able to download ver 1.04 from Stardock. I was check under tool section in Stardock the correct registration number.

Robert, Hope you saved your game a turn before submission. Let me run it by Brad or someone at stardock tomorrow and see what's up. Or you can do the same. Also try to submit tomorrow. Perhaps by chance you submitted when it was tweaking or something. Also. Did you start the game in 1.04? I don't think games will submit of you go across two different versions when you play them.

I just finished my first game on 1.04.

Galaxy: Small
AI's: All Sub-Normal
Overall: Beginner
Planets: Tight Clusters, Abundant

Victory: WON via Military Conquest
...Score: 1800!!!

Yea, 1800...wow. In 1.03A.057 on the same settings (galaxy size gigantic), it too me nearly 8-10 hours to get 1800! I love 1.04.058 :) (time to crank them out)

You guys are in for a suprise after June 23 ;)

Rob. Got this from another thread.


The following is a post that clued me into a possible reason why my Metaverse scores aren't posting. I've been blaming it on the 1.04 upgrade, but its true that I purchased the Drengin.net upgrade at about the same time, so that could very well be the problem. Hope this helps someone else.

You need to update your keycode in the Metaverse to the drengin.net key instead of the galciv key.

Update from assigned Galaxy Gamma Theta Phi Slamma Jamma.


Your empire got sucker punched by the computer. It looked like a good start only to discover it cornered me in with all 5. Yes all 5 empires starting within 5 sectors of me. Dang this one's hard. I am currently attempting to secure my little corner and leapfrog one of the alien civs in each direction using my speed advantage. I only need to be successful once and I'll still have my foothold. I'll just be stuck defending two power centers for awhile. If I can't I am in big trouble.

If can talk to Stardock for me that will be great. Yes, I have save the game. I also had started the game as ver 1.04. I have also double check and I do have drengin.net key number (thru stardock??) I also started new game and ready to help move our empire into number 1.

Well, it appears that military conquests scores
signifigant points at any difficulty level. As the
individual rankings are based on a quality over quantity,
this wont effect the individual rankings to much, but
this will have a pretty big effect on the team rankings.
As they are based on just simple addition.

Before my score was equal to about 100 begginers, now
it will only be equal to about 5.

As pre 1.04 games were not calculated using the current
formula, old beginner games are still fairly worthless.

But as players start submitting new scores, empires
with lots of active players of ANY ability will
jump in score very quickly.

So if you want to see G.R.O.S.S succeed, start putting
the galaxy under our military control! Every little
bit helps and with the new scoring system, helps quite
abit.

To sum up, for empires, new scoring system favors
quantity over quality and military above all else.

As the empires ahead of us have a massive number of
members, if any chunk of them are active I do not hold
out much hope of passing them :(
