G.R.O.S.S. communication thread.

G.R.O.S.S. communication thread.

Cringe in fear do gooders. The G.R.O.S.S. (Get Rid Of Slimy alienS) empire is now formed. In less than an hour we have jumped 95 other Pacifist Doo Gooder victim empires and lept into 40th out of 135 ranked.

We are an evil empire bent on controlling everything and showing all the other empires out there who's boss. US. Are you listening Euro-"Oh lets let everyone be a senator and give em a vote doo gooder democracy alliance?" We come for you.

For a limited time, (untill I decide otherwise) 5 Pure Evil games, (or just impressing me with your game evilness) submitted will get you a Senatorship. Later, being the evil empire pyramid scheme we are, it will take 10. Of course, being the evil empire we are, that gives you no benefits, no pay, but all the alien carnage you crave most.

Now we do realize that sometimes, you just have to fake being good. You sometimes just have to infiltrate that pacifist party. We understand. But we aren't a kinder gentler empire and don't let their pacifism go to your head. And just sometimes, you gotta let the Aliens live (where else would you find slaves for the heavy metal lava mines?)

In the future, we shall update each other in the empire via this thread, brag of our conquests, drink blood wine, and generally just poke fun (creatively and humorously) at those players whom we find to be too goody goodyish.

Our mottos.

G.R.O.S.S. Where being good is merely a temporary strategy.

Just win baby.

Here's your ration of skin you do gooder wimp Drengin slime. Now get back to work

EBZeroMatrix you have been made a senator.

I repeat. Cringe in fear, we come for you.

Oh good grief, is the future going to be "Avast, ye scurvy sheepdogs! About time for ye to turn tail and retreat while ye can. We've run up our true colors. I just hafta loot yer holds for the wine casks first before we sail to Greece! Arr!". Just poke pins in my eyes.
However, and not wanting to inflate you even more than already, but the new logo is pretty nifty. Almost makes me want to join. I imagine a flood of would be scurvy pirates will join you now. Arr!

It was easy. You had SA for 2 armies per. It was harder to keep than Australiea because of the two paths in. But like I said, the next out of australia is asia which, unless you take that easternmost euro province with it, is very tough to hold and everyone targets asia. You can usually parlay south and north America together for a total of 7 armies much more readily as if you take em both, there are only 3 ways in.

The totally useless one to take was africa. Europe isn't all that great either. Too many ways in for too few armies. Of course getting those matching cards helps a bunch. If you can somehow take em both, it's ok though. Only 4 ways in if you take em both.

Been years since I played though. No one would play with me anymore. They were tired of getting beat. They even tried to gang up on me and still couldn't (thanks to a lucky card draw) hehe. They quit after that game.

Join us now Chris. We could merge Anzac in quite easily and would welcome a southern hemisphere Galactic marauding force.

The only board game I play with any regularity now is "Puerto Rico" and that largely because myself, my wife and our 10 year old can make a viable game out of it

Most of the board games I have played in the last 10-15 years have been the German ones. You can find it here: http://kumquat.com/cgi-kumquat/funagain/home

At university my all-time favourite game was Dune, if I can get 6 gaming people together I still drag that one out!

You have to register EVERYWHERE under the new key. That's here in this forum, the metaverse, stardock central if you use it. Everywhere. And make sure you change the key on your submission screen when you submit. There should be a toggle menu on it.If it still doesn't work let me know.

I will double check this tonight or Saturday. I am current in the middle of my new game. Thanks for the help.

Robert, the Senate already voted him in the last time this came up.

You wanna be a Senator Staffa?

It pays zero.
Your responsibilities are Zero.

There are a few things you can play around with in the empire functions like adding and removing Senators, but I ask that you not play around with them. Someone obviosly got in their swelled head that some were undeserving in the Euro-Alliance and did just that. An there's trouble over there because of it. We're not political like that here. But if you guys all ever want such a thing, I'll step down, let someone else be emporer, just play, and not worry bout that.

And once a G.R.O.S.S. senator always a G.R.O.S.S. senator. So anyone that gets removed would be put back by me anyway.

And remember, everyone who meets the autoqualify criteria gets to be a Senator. You just gotta ask.

I'm working on it, boss! Both on the warp engines and on getting evil game #4 and 5 finished off. But, a miracle worker I am not. These things take time...

And for my well respected ANZAC foes, what can I say? I got to throw a curve or two to keep you guys off balance. Besides, you have to admit that when we raised our true colors it was causing morale problems! The Battle of the South Seas is not over yet, but ye better not let yer guard down. Else ye be ending up as GROSS spoils of war, and we be making ye choose between walking the plank or joining the crew. ARR! :)

That's right chief engineer. Join us, or walk the plank. Although we haven't had a good keel hauling in awhile. Since were near a coral reef, now might be a good time.

An update from Galaxy Gamma Theta Phi Slamma Jamma.

The Battle goes well. G.R.O.S.S. controlls half the Galaxy ranked by planet, 2/3 by sector influence, We're starting to see those skull and crossbones at the fringes of the Drengin (they just love torian Sushi) the Altarian (Love that Kentucky Friend Drengin) and the Arceans (They love it too)

The dreaded Torians have 4 influence booster bases so as soon as I get everyone else over, I'll smash those bases and it will be over. I have Dread tech up but am way ahead in tech so I've diverted research to planet boosters and morale boosters first, then dread. I have battleships in construction and should be near completion soon as i convert em over after researching dreads, which I've just turned over to now upon discovering teleporters. This one is in the G.R.O.S.S. camp.

The other Galaxy I'm working on is going to be a duke it out fight it out long one. I load it up for about an hour at a time when that's about all the time I have and Duke it accordingly. Gonna take mucho time to win that one. So I'm sort of working on it from time to time. But that is the kind of game I savor. Duke it out baby.

Carry on. I'll be concentrating on finishing my game and getting it in today.

Robert #567: Get with it. This is the new procedure for you guys:
From today, and for the next three (3) weeks, all members will have the right to vote on their preferred modus operandi for the Senate. For those of you who want to register a secret vote, you shall register your choice in the private forum established by our colleague Pontius. For the purposes of the Referendum on Senatorship, scrutiny shall consider as victourious a qualified majority - the option with the most votes will be adopted. For the next three weeks, all members are free to propose additional options, and to vote for them.

With regards to the Referendum on Admission Status, I invite you all to discuss in public forums the advantages and disadvantages of adopting an invitation only policy, and to vote accordingly to your arguments. In this case, absolute majority (50 percent plus one) will determine the result of the Referendum.

Here are the two questions. Please register your vote by using the letter of the call and the number of the option.

A. CALL ON SENATORSHIP RIGHTS AND SELECTION

What Criteria should be used to select Senators?

1- Senators should be elected by all members of G.R.O.S.S. No other discriminatory criteria shall be considered

2- Senators should be selected according to merit. Members with the highest scores shall be Senators

3- Senators shall be selected according to evilness. Each level of evilness should be represented, regardless of the characteristics of representing senators.

B. CALL ON ADMISSION STATUS POLICY

1- G.R.O.S.S.should adopt and invitation only admission policy. Procedures related to invitations shall be discussed at a later stage.

2- G.R.O.S.S.shall maintain the present admission policy.

Its easy to understand once you get your head around it. Cheers.

Bah! We're supposed to catch the Euros, not act like them! Parliamentarians belong in parliament, not the GROSS beer hall. Now, excuse us while we develop crafty ways to retake #3 and go forward on that now stalled invasion of Greece...

Well, well, well. 'What we have we hold', eh! The Battle of the Coral Seas is going to plan. The G.R.O.S.S. armada apparently becalmed in Dross Bay, which then gave the ANZAC dreadnoughts time to come up from behind. Admittedly there was much friendly waving and cooeeing as we passed you pirates. Heh heh.

Gerakken: I suggest you peek out of your window as you read this. You may see some VERY patient, specially trained snappy sheep just innocently 'hanging about'.

Chris: Are you drunk? This is not the E-a thread. I'm sure they'll take your parliamentary suggestions under advisement.

Yeah, always got to watch out for those trained attack sheep. Gives me a baaad feeling when I go outside. Life ain't easy on the run, hiding from sheep. Especially when they disguise themselves and discreetly take the place of the Alpaca herd a few miles away from my house. Then again, there are some awfully sheepish looking goats nearby as well. And then there are those mountain sheep at the research facility a ways across town. That is a scary thought: mutant trained attack sheep augmented by experiments unknown. And it is real baaad when they infiltrate my dreams, but instead of me counting them, the sheep got my number!

And check out my shiny new medal. Seem's the Pontius one just uncorked a biggie... Top 25 for me at least temporarily.

Nice win, boss. My game is winding down. Another day will do it. Maybe I can actually get a tech win this time...
