Weapon Priorities

hi im trying to make a mod that has lots of fighters but all Cap ships can fire them in some way or another. I have most of the mod coming good but i noticed that the weapons dont like to fire at fighters even if i say it can target fighters. Is there anyway to change the weapon targeting priorities in this game that a modding noob (me) could do? Thanks in advance for any help  :)

It's not that we're ignoring you. For me, I'm not sure and was trying to figure it out. I think it might be an AI thing that we cannot touch yet.

Anyone else wanna clarify?

Oh i thought it was just a simple matter... sorry to sound impatient/demanding then. And i did find some code that looks likely while messing around in the gameconstants file:
