Some ships don't start to construct

Hello

I didn't find a topic about this nor do I know is it a bug or just a feature. When I've researched some new ships like cruisers and want to construct some of them. The work doesn't start. And after a quite while I try again and its as nothing was wrong in the first place. A bug or with a reasonable explanation?

could it be possible the ship tech is qued for research but just hasnt actually been researched yet?

i have that issue only when i have a ship tech qued and i go to build the ships...but they end up just being qued till the tech finally gets around to actually being researched then they get built

Ah, that might be it, since those have been under development. Funny though they still show as buildable (is that even a word), even though you can't build it.

they will indeed show as buildable..but they wont build until the tech is actually finished being researched

its like going to ford back in ww2 and telling them to build you some new planes.... "sure...we can build it....go ahead and place your order....but we will need the blueprints before we begin"

well I think it can still be an issue with building things to, because I built one of those long range planetary bombardment weapons, and it stopped at 1% construction. tried to get fabricators to resume, no luck...and I had others built on other worlds no problem, but that one stayed the same until the end of the level.

You do know that you're required to have the requisite number of labs for the research even after you've finished the research, right? While abilities "stick", you can't build new units if you don't have enough labs for their research.

Edit:

Another possibility is that you queued up enough upgrades to let you build it, then canceled them -- so your "over limit" and can't do anything until they finish, which they won't.
