Registration Issue Frustrations

Registration Issue Frustrations

I bought my copy of Sin from Amazon, got it today and am trying to register the game to get the patches.

Of course I can't.  Doing a search I'm not the only retail customer to experience this problem. Its very very frustrating because its 3pm on Friday and I just sent an email to [email protected]   My hopes of getting a reply today or even this weekend is slim to none I think and and I'm just ... pissed.

I'm glad stardock has a no DRM policy on its CD's and such but screwing your retail customers seems a very very bad way to my relationship with stardock.

The normal way needs you to have Impulse installed and online. I'm not 100% sure on the procedure to register offline, so I would recommend to send an email to [email protected] and I'm sure they can manually register it for you.

Can you download at the library? Because Impulse is needed for the updates as well, and the only current way to have the most up to date version without an online Impulse is to download a premade archive from http://anywhere.impulsedriven.com. This archive does need the Impulse client, but it doesn't need an internet connection so you can install Impulse at home offline and then use it to install from the Anywhere archive, which is always the latest game version.

You just have to get support to help you register it so you can get into the Anywhere site.

LordVengeance, if you can send an email to [email protected] with your serial number we can manually register it to your account. Once this is done, you will need to download the game via Impulse Anywhere as Annatar11 pointed out. For future updates, you will need to re-download the entire game from Impulse Anywhere.

Allright, thanks.  I'm pretty sure I've got it. :)  I'll have to bring the serial with me next time I'm here. I've got impulse installed, just no net access at home.  So if I register it, I just download the whole game with the update included, right?  Thanks for your reply, guys. :) I live in BFE, & internet access options aren't very good. It's a real pain.

Yes, when you register you can go to http://anywhere.impulsedriven.com and download the fully patched game. Then take it home and as long as you've got Impulse you just run the installer from the download and it'll set you up without needing the internet.

The downside is that you'd have to do this for every patch if you want to keep it up to date, since Anywhere only has the full patched game, there are no individual patch files.
