no story

i konw there might be other posts about this but i have to say i feel kind of riped off becasue the game had not story dont get me wrong i love the game now that i have been playing it but i still feel the game is missig some thing like who are these races why are they fighing i know many people might say they do not need some have done story that just gets in the way of the fun but i feel the story helps me get into this world and get to know some of the people that i will be playing as thats just my two cents i hope the next patch of the next sins has a story

It was also known for at least a few months prior to release that there would be no story-driven campaign.

There are plans for a campaign for the expansion, AFAIK.

There is a story. A great story at that. did you pay attention to the opening cinematic/ It explains everything. what is not told is the fate of these empires. that is for you to decide.

Yeah, pretty hard to say there is no story. I think what you really want is a campaign that hand feeds you bits and bits of a continuing story.

I actually think a campaign is a good idea, but with the length of some of these maps (and the multitude of things that can happen in one map) I would completely forget what the hell was going on.

Naturally, I'll pick up the expansion as soon as it's available.

That portion of the game sucks. That is the only aspect of the game I'm unhappy about. You can tell they put alot of thought into a story but when it came time for a single player campaign it appears they got lazy and/or got pressured to just release.

All things considered I guess its a small price to pay for a great game, I would say its definately a pity though. I've no doubt this game will be a contender for PC game of the year but its lack of a campaign will be what prevents it from winning.
