Uber Long Range Planet Cannon Kills the Game

Upon completion of the uber cannon crash

When I first encoutnered the crash I assumed it was a random error, but when I restarted the game and repeated my tech tree (all praise the auto save) it crashed again. To be sure I did this a third time and I was affirmed in my belief. Any solutions to this?
