The expansion...

We all know its coming, will it also deliver a story mode? I know you said (the devs.) that you made a great game without a story, and I kinda agree, but also strongly disagree. This game had so much potential for a story mode, even a weak one. it's still a good game though. But a storymode woudl have added more. now its just a plain game wich cant have sequels because it doesnt have a story =\

It can still have expansions and 'remakes' but nothing really to add much to it.

Also, what CAN we expect from the expansion? More units?  More diversity?

You know, Sins is kinda fastly played out. Online aint that great, and singleplayer is just to easy on hard.

I for one would love to see more ways to win. When I go online it's really the first to spam LRM's and take more planets, too combat oriented. I'd like to be able to just kill my opponent by turning all his planets to my side through culture, or to basicly buy out all his manufactorers through my economic might (Making it so it takes longer to buy things and they're more expensive or something.) As it stands, Sins is just far too combat oriented for my tastes.

I agree, it is more of a space RTS then a R4X or whatever they called it :P

Maybe even just some playmodes to add in. like everyone gets his own star system from start, every planet colonized, but no buildings build exept for 2 metal mines an 1 ir 2 crystal mines at your home planet. then you slowly have to upgrade each planet. ofcourse those would be the central planets! :P

Or a mode where you need to err, steal a flag or whatever :P

There are way more options that could be added in the multiplayer of Sins, even in the singleplayer. It just feels empty for me.

Don't get me wrong however, it is still a very good game! (wont be saying great, for me to call a game great is like... err. Dunno, but it is very hard for me to do that with a game, especially the later ones.

Hope there will be more stuff in upcoming patches insead for me to beg at my dad to order it online again!

(stupid european publishers!

Perhaps more diversity between the races, the 'force' the vasari are fleeing. a single player story mode

Maybe the force the vasari are fleeing from is a tad to early :P

First a decent story about how the TEC fends of the Advent and the Vasari.

There is no formal listing for the expansion content. It is well documented that the fans want a single player campaign but like I said nothing formal is out yet.

tsk tsk to the LRM spam. I too did that for a while but I found a better way to win. Observe and counter.
Anyways I can't see how Sins could have a good single player experience. I mean think about. You only have planets to work around. The only things you could do is "Oh this planet is heavely defended, attack and destroy" Might as well just play multiplayer.

Well I would guess an expansion would have 1 more faction, and maybe one more ship type for the existing factions. Too many ship types would change the game too much!

Of course we will also probably have something along the lines of a campaign :O

Campaign? Maybe. I'd rather see special scenarios that you can play that helps explain the battle through a series of military campaigns. If anyone remembers Civilization 2, it'd be sorta like the WW2 campaign. Maybe even severely limit research.

I'd also like to see them overhaul the capital ship system. It just doesn't sit right with me that battlecruisers being equal to battleships and dreadnoughts (in terms of cost, numbers, etc.).

And, of course, all the new stuff. Like maybe defense cruisers, heavy frigates, and what not. Maybe a new planet type (ocean planet!).

Also, a few updates for some of the ugly stuff in the game (like the hideous, hideous revelation battlecruiser, or Vasari's laughable plasma wave projectile).

If you have to make a campaign, at least make a non-linear one.

I like the Vasari green projectiles, it's cute! ;p And make the game more 4x, more research/more factions/more artifacts/more planet types, moons and stuff like that, more bonuses, and maybe planets with different access to units, like special planets guraded by NPC´s. Also more logistic/tactial building types and more unit types would be welcome. ^^

I would like to see some aditions to the Multiplayer, considering that is the only real way to play the game, it should have some more added to it. I like the idea of adding some game modes. Such as King of the Hill where you have to control a certain planet. Ofcourse to make this work effectively you would need a special map where each player gets say 4-5 planets and they only have 1 phase line out, towards the King of the Hill planet.

You could also make a 5 Treasures mode-have 5 things hidden around the system, say special ships. The players have to capture them and return them to one of their planets. Each one could give a special bonus to the empire and once they have all 5 they win. To prevent suicide rushes of capturing the ships, it could be that only capital ships can capture them and if there is an enemy capital ship in a certain distance of it the ship will no longer move. Makes capital ships more valuable.

Also could add rush to the tech option. Nobody can attack eachother and you must expand quickly to get as many planets as you can. The object is that each player must reaserch say 10 different techs that are the same for each race. They are extermely expensive to research and take a while. So it is an economy based mode. Only problem would be certain tech advantages may make certain races a better choice.

The first to get 1000 points. Points are rewarded by killing or they can be bought using credits. Say destroying a planet is worth 100 points, a cap is 60 or so. Every unit and building gets their points. The pirate system could also be switched for this. Pirates are worth points so a team could put bounty on their own heads to get more points, but another team could take advantage of this and attack at the same time, risk/reward.

I'm sure there are many different modes that could be added to grealtly improve the replayablity of the game without having to do a lot of work =D *hint hint*
