Slow down after one hour

I'm only playing a game with 3 players and pirates.  My computer handles it perfectly for say an hour until all the planets are colonized, and then with massive fleets moving about it starts to run jerkily and really slow down! :(

Anything I can do?

We had someone write in with something similar to this. A update to his drivers solved the issue. Could be a long shot but give it a try.

What are you specs?

Yaa once you get the bigger fleets you can run into this. If you only meet the Min spec requirments then you are likely going to lag in big battles. I to lag with the big battles, that is why I only do games with 1 star in it. Any bigger = trouble for me. Specs?

That should be enough horsepower. Make sure you have any background applications turned off before you play and if that doesn't work, try turning down the graphics settings.
