The voiceovers done by a stoned 15-year old?

"Uh....where...TO, commander?"

Seriously - the TEC sounds like a bunch of inebriated stoners!!!!!

It's hilarious!

You've probably heard these '15-yr olds' hundreds of times in your lifetime ;)  They are well-respected industry professionals.

Really. 100 bucks says myself and the team we're putting together for a TEC re-recording mod can do better :>

I have to admit the Tec voice overs are very bad. The Cobalt ships sound like Keanu Reeves lmao. I first started up the game and heard that I almost shut it off, but im glad I gave it a chance, I just turned the voices very very low.... very low...

Only problem i have with TEC voice over is that I liked the old "Times of war are upon us." The one from beta!

I swear the Krosov "give me a planet to bomb" sounds EXACTLY like Fontaine from Bioshock.

I'm not the only one to notice this! Thank god.

TEC are a bunch of traders, they're no soldiers. I think the voiceovers for TEC captains is great, and fitting. Plus, they partly seem to be an homage to the Terrans of Starcraft. I swear I recognize some of the same voices.

SCV voice -> "Where to.. commander?" in Sins
Plus, there's one that sounds like the voice for the Siege Tank, in Starcraft.

Hey, it could be worse. They could be yelling "take it!" every 5 seconds or taunting you with no way to disable those taunts. A game that did that came out mere months ago. I'd much rather have the 15-year olds from Sins!

It looks like you're pointing out the colonizing frigate in particular. Would you want to take orders from a military commander if you were in a defenseless beatle-shaped metal can with hundreds of civilians ready to complain, protest, injure themselves, sue, and so on the moment you hit a piece of space debris? I don't think so.

Yeah colonization guy being slightly awkward seems very fitting to me.

Cobalt is a little bit off because they would still have a low ranking officer in command who didn't sound like a green recruit.

"I hear you have a fighter problem", "These missiles won't fire themselves", "Listen up you hotshots!" and "Behold my creations" - hilarious.

The Arcova sounds too "tough" but his attack voiceovers are fitting.

Kodiak sounds fitting. Cielo sounds great like a guy who really knows his stuff but is also really proud and puffy. Fighter voiceovers are nice although we don't hear them much.

TEC capships all sound great although the Marza does wear thin in a long game.

Some of the advents do hit Celine Dion or Valley girl notes like "the desecrators shall... [like, totally] perish" and "for the unity" but I can live with it. I always liked some of the others such as "You may speak" and "The anima are restless". The part about purging planets of heathens cracks me up.

"What needs revealing?" sounds like a 10 year old girl.

The vasari migrator sounds good.

The only voices I hate are those of the Vasari, I just don't thinkt hey fit the race. They sound more angry and less like an ancient and wise race.

Yeah, all the "stop wasting my time" stuff sounds odd. Kinda like the vultures from starcraft... so much lip out of a military unit? I guess it gives character though.

I love "listen up, hotshots." Colonel Tigh much?

That said, I wish I could turn down the unit voices. I think they're well done, but in a long game, it gets a little . . . old.

The vassari seem to have the vocal infliction like it is a narrator.

It is very sutile, but very annoying, anyone else notice this?

sounds like one of those books that was put into audio format.
