[ Frustrated!! Pirates Question, Desperately Demanding Answer]

Which Planet Would Pirates Attack?

Hi,

The following question is referring to the picture below.

I once thought that pirates will choose the shortest route towards my homeworld and attack whichever planet of yours they encounter first. But i proved myself wrong in this game.

During this game, the pirates have attacked my planet 1,2,3 randomly. Misprediction caused a great drawback to my plans.

I here, frustrated, and desperately demand a PERCISED theory on the pirate attack order. Thank you very much.

Pirate raids seem to be fairly random. Happily, static defenses around your planet can usually handle almost any size pirate raid. Most people let some cap ships hang back and level up off the experience as well.

The percised theory is this: it's random but weighted in favor of systems with trade.

They also tend to attack the closest planet to them of the player who is Wanted. In the case you presented all 3 of the planets being attacked are 3 jumps from the pirate base, so they will be randomly chosen.

Actually, planets 1 & 2 are three jumps away and planet 3 is four jumps... so planets 1 & 2 would be randomly chosen not 1, 2 & 3.

Best solution for stopping pirate raids is to raid their base for a change.
