@SPM - You suggested you would set up polls on a different site if memory serves. I think giving select people access to a private community off site for decisions is not a good idea. Transparency in operations for the community will be key to its success.

Not necessarily. I am not often one of the people who sides with the Galactic Empire, but it seems to me they have a point.

The purpose of this is to help the community, so we will consider all of its memebers. We will have "instert your specified amount here" 'neutral' deligates, that would represent multiplayer gamers that are not part of clans, or those that are part of small clans. I think the main part of this would not be to exclude clans from the community, but to help them benifit it. Those clans who are up and coming, or even brand new will recieve our support and help. This way the community will grow and retain activity. We could also be an intermediary body who will monitor the community and help it through the rought patches of inactivity, whether it will be through tournaments or competitions or whatever.

I have been of part of something like this over at Gal Civ 2 and it worked very well. As long as we have no power hungry individuals, and a clear set of rules is present things should go well. We won't let our prejudices against small or new clans color our judgements on anything, the benifit is to the community, not the established clans.

OK, how would you rather have this occur -- me just deciding on my own authority which clans look "real" and which clans are just a joke? A) thats a lot of effort on my part, I don't think the idea of putting that much "power" in one persons hands is a good idea, even if you happen to think I'm trustworthy enough for it. (Spartan obviously does, but inevitably there are going to be people who disagree with my decisions, and for good reason!)

This is starting to sound a lot like what I had put forth as a mission for "pink space ponies" about 2 months ago..

I do have a very rough idea here, please expand and alter this as it is just an opening thought..

Ronn, Spartan, we need to get the old crew together and set up a site "pinkspaceponies.com" not to be confused with the clan "thespaceponies.com"

being that we really have no authority expect that which we grant ourselves and that the community as a whole decides they shall abide by.

We establish a criteria by which what is considered a "clan" is. We then publish this criteria and allow clans to apply.. Those that do and meat the criteria are given a "Seal of Approval" from both the Space Ponies and the Galactic Empire at first and as each clan that is given such a seal they obtain a voting right to approve or disapprove a clan in later decisions.

as an outsider (I have never been part of a clan, but soon I hope to put in an application for the [GE] ) I think that ether a private or non private voting system would work as long as you get a list of the clans that voted for and agonist you . This way you can lobby for there support at the next vote

Remember the whole point for not sanctioning or removing a clan is because they are not organized or active. I hope you see the logical issue in your argument now.

@Shod, people can form wings at the space ponies and when they have grown they can establish themselves as a clan in there own right.. They can stay as a wing if they wish or shut in down go there own way and just become a part of our lore..

@Mike - I assume you are a member on modcraft already. So send a PM to Ron and he will add you to the website development group. There are many graphic elements needed for the site and sadly enough none of the current group are artistic types and Theo our graphic guy for modcraft has been real busy with school and the military to really focus on things. You should also join our Ventrilo from time to time since it where we have planing meetings.
