AI Problems

why is it when I play a medium map on FFA with 3 cpu opponents I get ganged up on everytime!

Within 45 mins I have each team attacking me at the only two planets I have colonized.  What the hell? I've tried two different maps and get the same result on both easy and normal settings. 

I have significant defenses and a nice fleet but I can't fend off 3 attackers at once, it's ridiculous.

Help me before I through his game through the window.

I think working on how you expand could help tremendously (should have 4-5 colonies within 12-20 minutes).

if you want them not to allie against you, just do locked teams option and they will not allie.

Lock the teams next time. If you don't lock the teams, then the AI with it's sheer hatred of all things organic will always gang up on you.

I have to say that I have not had the problem of AI's ganging up on me. I am currently playing a medium map with two AI, and I managed to get both to 100% friendship. I don't know if that is because they are on easy, but there is an easy thing to remember: Always do the easy missions. If you do the really stupidly easy give 1000 credit missions on easy, you are bound to get them to make peace with you (or at least one). I don't know if that is true for hard, but give it a go.

Also, I have to say that super exploration is NOT a good idea, but I would say that if they are constantly ganging up on you, I would put early research into the military branch of the tech tree, and build some quick turret/hanger defenses on your early planets. Make sure to have fighters if they use siege frigate spam!

Locked teams > gangbangs. Also, 4-5 in 20 is a bit much, but within 45, it's almost needed.
