My question is that i want to view some of the ships up close and personal w/o having to load the game and get to the ships and view them. I would like to extract them, edit their looks or compare them to other designs i have on my computer and change/tweak/add new ones.

For example i would like to pull the ship picture/model files of the TEC/Vasari/Advent fleet and view them on an external software. Then extract the ship picture/model files from the others Strat/Tactical RTS i own and compare and create my own. What software/program would i need to run in order to do that and how do i reintergrate the ships and new designs back into the game? Also i have hand drawn pics and images that my friends did using adobe that would luv to scan in a software in order to model/Animate/render it
