I hope some of you realize that when someone complains that their opponent's "heavy cruiser spam is backed up with flak and carriers with fighters" that it's not really "spam" at that point, it's called combined arms.

Lol! A ray of reason strikes the black of ignorance
Heavy cruisers are a top tier unit. They are meant to be really good. They are more balanced by their own research, resource, and logistic cost than anything. Think of it as the Ultralisk from Starcraft. The ult will pwn everything on the ground but is super expensive and cant attack air (think bombers vs heavies here). Supporting a fleet of heavies is expensive. If both players are putting them out then the one with the best eco or carrier micro wins. So the true counters to heavies are bombers and/or a better economy. If your opponent has 25 heavies and you have like 5 and/or no comparable carrier fleet, you lost due to eco and scouting.
