Watching Replays

I was wondering if there is some site for sins where you can upload your replay, and download other replays by different players.

Thank you for the site, but where in the sins folder do I put the replay in? Do i have to create a replay folder?

they have to be placed in one of the replay folders doesnt matter which one, can be found here

Vista:
C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Ironclad Games\Sins of a Solar Empire\

XP:
C:\Documents and Settings\username\Local Settings\Application Data\Ironclad Games\Sins of a Solar Empire\

then you just start the game, choose singleplayer and watch :)

I need help with this as well. I have XP, but C:\Documents and Settings only has Administrator, All Users, and Owner, and none of those have Local Settings.

Those directories are be Hidden by default. To unhide them, go to your Control Panel -> Folder Options -> View and set yourself to view hidden files and folders.

Can we get an update here please?  The second link (www.sins.bz) is now defunct and the first one requires you to download a proprietary download manager just to get the replays.  Even still, there aren't any recent version uploads (1.11 and prior) so do those even work with the current build?

Since we all are forced to have Impulse because they want their own propriatary software managing our games, why isn't there a section from Impulse where we can upload and download replays?  Or is there?  I couldn't find one.

Not that I know of, there are some replays of entrenchment plays, but the majority are from older versions that cann't be watched now. A shame, as I'd like to see a few replays from some of the higher level playing people.

Yeah, I'm starving for replays right now.

Don't have entrenchment, so I want vanilla replays. But it seems to me as if there wasn't any competitive community for Sins. Is there even a metagame?

Replays are what lets the game evolve. And I'm one of these guys who don't go online until they found enough replays to at least know enough basics to not be beat by other players.

There are things you can learn just by losing, but most tactics must be learned by watching.

 

A replay system for Impulse would be the PERFECT tool. Maybe not uploads for everyone, but something like a vote on the forums every month for the best ten or so replays, which are then uploaded on Impulse.

I downloaded a couple of replays to watch but they say "Invalid Save type" when I try to watch them.  They are older versions I guess (v1.03) & I'm on v1.181.  Does this mean I can't watch older replays?

Yup, you have to find replays that match the version you have.

I think there's a thread in the Multiplayer forum where replays have been posted, but they probably require Entrenchment.
