Perhaps he speaks of the TEC cargo ships. They can carry around newspapers, if so desired, and they also can be made bigger via tech tree. I guess he wants them for the Vasari and Advent too.

The next patch will be out soon, but won't include new ships (or news ships, either) from what I've read. There's always a possibility for something like this to be included in future patches, but adding a new ship type would require quite a bit of work, so I'd see that more as left to either modding or the expansion pack.

Also, your biggest two requests were new ships and then ships moving during combat? If that's it, I'd say Stardock and IronClad did one heck of a job with the game. Right now, most of their efforts are going into bug fixing, improvements to game creation (setup option), and AI, which seem pretty reasonable to me for a minor release patch. Not that your requests are without merit, but make sure you make your voice heard when the next call goes out for improvements in the future.
