Does Anyone find Wormhole annoying?

My problem with wormhole is basically at my first map at retail version, huge random map, 7 hard AI, wormhole was interlinked within my home star system, which is okay because basically it mean more defense on star with incoming via another star etc, but next 2 huge random map, 9 AI and me, it was linked to another stars.

Basically the enemy populated it fully, turn into warmachine and get direct access via wormhole to punch into my system while basically my fleets is too far in time to save planet because any defense WILL never save your planet from large numbers fleet destorying the planet so it major headache for me.

So basically any other way to turn wormhole off or?

Where's my violin?

If you don't like wormholes, then play a map without them. They're add soemthing to play sometimes, and give another element for strategy. That wormhole that links to you system also links to someone elses's system. Take it.

Offense is a better idea than turling in this game.
