no more pirates

this is my first 4x game. trying to figure out all the options in this game but im having some trouble doing so with the pirates. is there any way to disable/mod them out until i can get my feet under myself? thanks in advance.

Once you upgrade to version 1.02 (if you have not already) there are some maps that you can play on that do not have any pirates. Just look in the map sections of the new game screen, and find the map that says X random map no pirates or something like that. They are also adding something about getting rid of pirates in 1.03, i think (don't take my word on that though...)

There's more than just one map with no pirates, and YOU CAN MAKE YOUR OWN!

Really, more people should use the in-game random map editor. It rocks, is easy to use, and it takes about two seconds to make a map any size you'd like with or without pirates, depending on your taste.

wasn't ready to remake the universe in my own image just yet. but if thats the easiest option, ill definitely give it a shot. thanks! :) on a side note, im not seeing v1.02 under downloads anywhere. is 1.02 just the galaxyforge/forge tools? feel free to mock me to your hearts delight so long as you provide a helpful link to the update ;).
