What's the absolute minimum on CPU speed?

Hey,

I know the minimum spec says 1.8 GHz for a single core processor, but if I'm on a laptop with a 1.2 GHz Pentium M - will the program install? Or, is there an automatic hardware check before installation? I'd like to know before buying and getting some type of "sorry i can't install" message.

Performance won't be the best on this laptop, but my only other alternative is to buy a desktop PC for gaming. I'd like to avoid the outlay for new hardware. If I do have to buy a desktop, what's the cheapest/workable option?

Any thoughts?
