Artifact research

When you go into the game stats one of the choices under the Empire is artifact research done. But I can't find out how to research artifacts. So am I missing something or what. Thanks for any assitance in this.

The artifact research tree refers to artifacts that are currently under your control. Artifacts are similar to planet modifiers (reduced gravity well, penal colonies etc...), but they affect your entire empire. Their effects vary. One gives all your ships +12%(?) damage. Another reduces the cost for researching.

They are found by using the 'Explore' improvement on one of your colonies. Most places will not have one on them, as there are 9 artifacts in a game max, and smaller maps will only have a fractions of them.

When one is found, every player receives a notification that 'another empire has uncovered an artifact', and it will tell you which planet. Planets with discovered artifacts also have indicators next to them in the empire map. If you colonize a planet with a discovered artifact, you will have to explore the planet to find it and gain its effect.

Ya but i myself have found 8 out of nine yet my artifact researsh still said 0% under the post game wrap up. And that has nuttin to do with Achievement

Same here, it says I've done zero research but I've had all nine in at least one game. That is why I'm confused.

I may be mistaken (since I wasn't in the beta), but I believe prior to release you had to research artifacts in some manner before getting their benefit. The spot in the post-game wrap up is just a left-over from when that was the case.

Now all you need to do is to find the artifacts before they start working.

I beleive, the artifact research would be referring to things like, Penal Colonies, Natural Therman Lift, and stuff that you have to explore a planet to find. That could be why you got 0% in the very end.

End of Ceryse's quote

This is 100% correct.

However, I thought that Ironclad removed the Artifact Research stat in one of the patches, I definitely remember seeing it in the changelog.

Are you sure you guys are running the latest version?
