A Comprehensive List of Counter-Units

In reading the forums, I've read many individual counter units, but not all in one place. If I can get some contributions, I'd like to create a list in one place. If you don't know what I'm asking, just think of a unit, then think of the unit that is "designed" to counter it. I'd prefer not to see "Capital Ship" listed as the counter to every unit - flaks are much better at countering bombers squadrons than capitals... Any contributions are greatly appreciated.

Umm...good luck?  :D

You do know that depending on how a unit is used may sometimes influence the type of "counter" used against it? Also certain Cap-ship abilities completely change/augment the capabilities of smaller units and either increase or decrease their effectiveness as "counters" drastically.

I'm just saying, save your breath and just play/enjoy the game more!  :D

Well, if you're looking for something to protect against the ship spammer, the vasari might be for you. The first Vasari capship in the list (i forget its name) has a level 6 ability which makes any ship destroyed in a certain radius give a large amount of damage to every other ship in the radius. Kind of like the Advent. Nothing much but its a start I suppose. I'd like to see a list of counters too. Good luck on your quest! :CONGRAT:

I'm not sure what the link Aquilantus just posted was, but if you look at the top of the strategy forum there's a stickied post by Zyrxil with unit stats in it. Take a look at the damage types chart: that should provide you with the information I think you were looking for.

P.S. Speaking of, I almost shit myself when I read that Advent Illuminators deal Capital type damage! WTF?!

Monk: While what you said about counters being situational is true, it's also deliberately obscure and not particularly helpful. At least try to be constructive, not just elusive.

scout, numbers, balanced fleet.

ive yet to see a fleet that beats TEC battleball.

onlything that might come close is asvent Cleansing Malice. But it depends on capships so much its easy to snipe the progenitors.

Anything small - Flak Frigates
Anything big - Capital Ships or Heavy Cruisers.

There's my ever-so-helpful advice for you right thar.

Not comprehensive but here's some of it:

Unit - Counter

Scout Frigates - Light Frigates
Light Frigate - LRM
LRM - Flak (mitigates damage) / Heavy Cruisers / Fighter Squadrons
Flak - Light Frigates & Heavy Cruisers
Carriers - Light Frigates / Flak (against fighters)
Heavy Cruisers - Bombers / Support Cruisers
Support Cruisers - Light Frigates

That's the "hard" counters that I can think of, there are soft counter however, flak against scout frigates & light frigates against heavy cruisers for example.
