accused of cheating

This is my first posting to these boards, I would have hoped that it could have been a happy one  :D

I play under the name "GSV". Today in a 4 person ffa I was accused of cheating, to clear matters up I post the replay for anyone to see that it was asshats poor play and not some kind of invincible disciple in which cost him the battle  ;p

the fight in question is aprox at 1:25 , his 20 some destras and 12 or so illums with 2 caps are hitting one of my planets, I jump in system with 13 arias (all with bombers), 3 caps and a bunch of seekers, disciples and defence vessels. Obviously Asshat expected to wipe my fleet out, that is not quite what happened...  :SURPRISED:

At which point asshat obviously looses "it" judging from the exchange that follows. I will spare you the details but the replay is available at http://rapidshare.com/files/99558056/AutoRecord-03141858.record.html

A short while later another player attacks me with a massive fleet consisting only of cobalts, not having any mothership I retreat. I get a new mothership and malice him into oblivion at which point he leaves the game - asshat's cue for a new round of cheating accusations  :CONGRAT:

judge for yourselves,

GSV

No defense vessels is why he died. I dont have to watch the replay. Even if his cap was a carrier it can't keep the cruisers alive for ever. Who uses Illuminator+HCruiser anyway? That's like the worst combo u can conjure up.

Having been accused of cheating in another game all of once, I can tell you this:

If you weren't cheating, and someone says you're cheating, they are complimenting you. Smile and move on.

Sounds like you had a balanced fleet vs a non-balanced fleet and you won. Gee, what a shocker. Don't let it bother you (as long as you weren't cheating) and move on. It's not anything to worry about. Just allow the warm glow of their hatred to wash over you and fill you with joy.

Lol! Looks like you played your cards better than your opponent. I too got accused of cheating once for having light frigates stay in the blind spot of long range frigates via giving circular move orders that kept them firing but out of the enemy cone of attack.

Not really. Let's remember that the Illuminators have -three- laser banks for anyone that tries to flank them, and that Destras can put out a lot of plasma fire, and that the pair of them benefit from the Halcyon's passive energy weapon cooldown/rate of fire ability.

~25 fully upgraded (+30% damage, +12% range) Illuminators were doing about 400-500+ alpha/volley damage to TEC capital ships (even Kols) in a game I was playing against the AI. The enemy caps and fleets just melted under that fire. Most structures just vaporized within one or two volleys too. Illuminators, like the other LRFs, need to be micro'd for maximum damage of course.

The only things in my fleet that were actually out-damaging the illuminators were maybe my caps and the bomber swarm which spent a lot of time being boosted by a Rapture's Concentration Aura at level 3.

Likewise, the Destras (with +30% damage, +15% ROF and Ruthlessness) were doing a fair bit of damage - but not as much as that wall of illuminators.

It's like Kodiaks and Javelis'. The Kodiaks tackle and keep them busy whilst the Javelis' sit at range and pummel relentlessly w/ AOE munitions.

But with only 20 destras, 12 illums and 2 caps (and no defense), he rather deserved to get raept by your fleet - bombers are nasty. :)
