Multiplayer problem... Same game different events?

See post for details

Ok... so me and my brother were playing a multiplayer map Quickstrike via LAN on two different computers running version 1.03. We both were playing against each other but for fun at the start we allied ship vision, cease fire, and planet vision built a quick army of 12 light frigates and 1 capitol ship each then decided to raid the local pirate base... It was cool watching my army and his kick some pirate butt when we noticed something strange...

He said, "aw man they got your capital ship"...

and My response was "huh? its right there and we won..."

After closer observation both of us were fighting the same battle but with two different outcomes on each computer...

On my computer we had lost all of our light frigates but both capitol ships survived to save the day, whereas on his computer my capital ship was destroyed while his was still fighting off three more pirate cruisers....

Oddly enough when he finished his last enemies and moved his capital ship his respective ship on my computer moved as well. But... when I moved my respective ship via my computer his showed nothing as it claimed that my capital ship was already destroyed????

How is it possible that two people can be playing the same game but have 2 different outcomes? and even after the fact still somehow be networked together to some degree?

To test some more to see if the computers were still linked I built more frigates and they showed up on his computer and vice versa... just somehow the one battle had two different outcomes.?

to make matters worse anything either of us destroyed at this point would no longer register with the other computer just our own.  so for funs sake we broke the alliance and finished the game with each of us being declared the victor in the end...

Somebody please shine some light on what just happened?

On another note... whenever any of the auto savegame's are loaded it loads with the same condition as stated above...

Computer A/b Specs Identical configurations:
Windows Vista 4 gig Ram
Pentium E6850
Nvidia Geforce 8800GTX
all current drivers
onboard audio both cases
Computers have been linked via wireless network and wired with same results. Computers have also been directly connected via crossover cable with same results also. (Router is not the issue here)

The issue has happened to us the past 4 games in a row we have played... Each time the game desynchs in a different time and place... Its almost like 1 computer lags behind just a little bit, misses some game information and ignores the results... hence resulting in two people with different game outcomes?

Theoretically if one computer was lagging for whatever reason should the lagger be the host of the game to resolve this issue?

There have been a couple of other reports of this as well, but the devs haven't been able to pin down the cause as yet. Please send the saves and replays from both machines along with any other info you can provide to [email protected] to help them research this issue.
