Problems after 1.03 upgrade

First off want to tell the dev's what a great game they have. Now on to some issues with 1.03.

1. After upgrading, the mod to change the font causes a problem in the game setup screen. As soon as I enable it when I go to the game setup screen all of the maps names are replaced with "string not found". 

2. Now all of the Capital ships are at the bottom of the stack. This is just annoying since it is harder to tell at a glance if they need upgrading.

3. When you create a fleet the lead ship now is always a frigate or cruiser due to problem 2.

4. When you have a group or fleet created and select for all to jump at same time they will not do it all the time. Instead they will jump in 2 or 3 subgroups.

5. Also now fleets sometimes just decide to go somewhere other then where I tell them to go. I will be trying to defend a planet for example and send a fleet in for support. I will then go back to the battle and when I look to see where my support fleet is they are several planets away from where I told them to go just sitting waiting for orders.

I think I got all the issues listed. I keep watching the forums but haven't seen anyone else complain about these, so I'm not sure why it's happening to me. When running 1.02 I had no problems at all.

My system specs are:

Intel Pentium E2140 1.6Ghz dual core processor, with 3 Gig ram, Asus IPIBL-LB motherboard, Vista 32 bit OS, Nvidia GeForce 8500GT video card with 512 mb onboard video ram and Acer AL2016W monitor.

Hope someone can help me with these issues.

Hey Starrider,

I'm no dev but I can at least explain item No. 4. Now, starting with patch 1.03, large fleet group phase jumps work a little different. Large fleets tended to get bogged down usually due to only a few ships that took a while to get into formation prior to phase jumps. So now once about 90% of the fleet is ready, the fleet will phase jump and the other 10% or so catches up in their own sub-fleet (or so I have read, which brings me to why I am here).

I haven't actually played on the newly patched version. My wife and I were trying to play a game together post patch 1.03. Everything worked fine on version 1.02, but now my wifes computer is having problems with multiplayer games (but not mine as near as I can tell). She can't host games, and when she tries it says, "Disconnected from Game Server." Furthermore she cannot see games I host and when she tries to manually direct IP connect it gives the same previously stated message.

Yes, we have already gone through the whole firewall gambit; removed and re-add the program to the exception list and turn off the firewall all together (did on both computers).

This is a major problem for us, however on the plus side, single player still works (as I look over at my wife enjoying herself while I scour the internet for assistance). Anyways, if anyone could offer assistance I'd greatly appreciate it. Thanks

1) This is most likely because the string file changed, and the mod hasn't been updated to use the new one.

2) Hasn't happened to me, mine are still on top.

3) Ditto as #2, you can tab until your main selection is the capital of your choice before forming the fleet - it's always worked that way.

4) Jumping behavior was changed slightly - fleets will wait for 90% of their ships to be aligned before jumping, the rest will follow shortly. This was done to cut down the time it takes to get large numbers of ships into position, and since the bulk of your fleet still jumps at once it doesn't hurt you any. If you have "several" groups that's likely because they have mixed jump orders after adding new ships to the fleet, only thing I can think of.

5) Haven't seen this either. I know that in a fleet your support ships will not obey direct attack orders so they can focus on using their support abilities, but without more info I don't want to guess.

Thanks for the info guys. I really love this game but 1.03 is a little buggy. Strangely enough now after having saved and then come back later, some of my caps are at the beginning of the stack and some are elsewhere. Kind of a pain trying to manage things when you have more then one fleet in system at same time. I did actually send two save games to Ironclad since posting this because of couple more issues came up. Anyway I'm sure things will be worked out but until then I'm thinking of going back to 1.02
