American/European Compatibility

Will there be any? I ask because I'm from the UK and I'm itching to play this game but we don't even have a release date yet! If I buy this online from Stardock right now, when my friend in the UK gets his copy from the local retailers will we be able to play together?

I am from the UK and I got the game + box from stardock was ~£35 inc postage and was collectors edition. I however just used stardock central for the install and not the CD as it takes a week or so to arrive.

The game is P2P that is there is no central hosting server - only a chat room in which to create player hosted games. Thus you have no compatibility problems.

PS if you don't have it get Gal Civ 2 for a bit of a slower paced game singleplayer for you sins downtime
