installing the 1.3 patch

Well i hate to admit it, but i would like an answer on where to direct the patch to install to. I tried installing it into the SoaSE folder and i didn't have the new options i should have with the new patch (ie. pirates). Is there a subdirectory i need to install it in or did i just miss where the new options are. And also, is there a place in-game or in the launch screen that it verify's what version you are running (ie. version 1.3)?

I'm not sure where the new patch is installed. The installer just ran and installed automatically. There is a place you can tell what version you're running. At the main menu in the very bottom right-hand corner it shows what version you have installed.
