UK release date?

Is Sins going to be on sale in UK stores at somepoint?

I have read a couple of posts which relate to a potential UK release date for Sins of a Solar Empire. I know at the moment there is a problem with obtaining a publisher. However, it would be helpful to know whether or not SoaSE will be released in the UK?

Atm, I'm satisfying my hunger for the game by reviewing the website everyday (its sad, I know) but I really want to get my hands on a hard copy of the game. What I don't want though is to buy the game over the internet/on-line!

If someone could update this thread as soon as they read/hear anything about a release date, please do so.

I have not heard anything definite about a release date. I know Yarlen was going to revisit the European publishers now with sale numbers backing the game as well, but I believe he used to say that even if he secured one it wouldn't hit the stores until summer, since they'd need to get the ball rolling and set up marketing/production and all that. :(

Why would you not like to buy the game on-line? I got the box from stardock and also while I was awating delivery was able to use the downloader to install game. This cost just £35 and is the collectors edition.

What benefit do you gain by buying in store?

There is no real benefit other than the fact, I think buying the game in-store is slightly more secure/safer for my bank balance. However, I'm prepared to wait until the game is released in the UK (if it ever is), if not I'll eat my hat and buy the game on-line.

You think that buying from stardock the makers of the game is not good enough? If you buy with a credit card your insured if it all goes wrong anyway. :)

Lots of people form Europe and the UK have got the game from stardock you even get the bonus of having a collectors edition box - you will not get this if you wait on a UK release.

You do realise that buying on-line you are getting the physical box AND the ability to download and play IMMEDIATELY after purchase? This also means you download the most recent version with all patches pre-installed?

I have been shopping on-line for years now and I can say in all ways it is better than hanging out in shops.

As a last note if you buy form stardock all your hard earnt cash is going to the publishers and developers of the game and not to the upkeep of some local shop.

I'm becoming more and more receptive to buying the game on-line, I may do so within the next week. Can't stand not having the game or reading threads about how good it is (I feel lugubrious and alone, without SoaSE).

Hmm, I'm thinking a QUICK and EASY online purchase of Sins, FAST download speed, and a publisher and developer who keep supporting their game could quite easily put an end to your loneliness ;)
