Ok so I am just throwing this idea out there because I am a Halo fanatic and I think that this game could easily incorporate the Halo universe into it. I am not a very good designer but I can provide support and more ideas. There are already two races that could easily be changed into the Humans and the Covenant( TEC and Advent). All we would have to do would be to change ships some and add  gauss guns to most TEC Cap ships. I know this might take a long time but if it means that we will finally have a Halo space combat game then it will be well worth it.

First, the crew of a spacephip like there is in halo would have a lot more crew that you think.I sugest to change the data of all the ship. Specialy the mass who would be a lot more superior than what you wrote at least a couple of hundred or tousand megatons. 8C And for the hyperdrive it could be a bit faster I think. The mesure of the ship are good.

Second, we would need to change the structures because some of the structures will be need to be build on a planet. Example factorie, fore runner thing ect. 

Also the fore runner could be the alternative race for the vasari.

we could add the flood too.

An another that it could be done is ground battle like galactic cilivisation.

To finish I am ready to join the team. I able to help exept for the texture and coding.

Give me the site of the mods or a way to contact the project leader.

lol all_under_heaven if you take it that way than i know another mod called Stargate Empire at war for star wars empire at war and those guys are releasing just like that,it took them a year before they fullfilled their promise of releasing something that a year before was only a few days away :D,and after this release they are going on with the fixes and updates in the same pace :D

Sadly its just been problem after problem and now to top it off CaptKeyes (my main man for textures and rigging and stuff like that) had to leave for bootcamp. Don't worry I'll get you guys and update soon! I just realized its been a while since the last one.

the worst thing is half of my projects fail because of some coding imposibility or the only other way to make it makes it spamable.  i made a halo like ability from the novalith but its problem was that it cant hit more than one planet at a time making it possible for the user to pick targets.  eventually the ability when put on autocast destroys itslef making the ability worthless.  *cries softly for the dead halo*  the great journey has been denied to the faithfull

Its a shame that we can't have a halo in a halo mod, but we can at least try to bring in the glorious ships that the Halo series has. Besides hopefully they'll open that area up with an update or something. Sigh...

Because then everyone would be asking "Why can't the Halo kill all life in the universe?".

 

And there is no point to having a Halo if it won't destroy the galaxy.  Let's face it, the Halos aren't exactly required for Halo.  Halo would still be Halo without them, since Halo is really about humanity trying to survive against the Covenant, and the Halos are really only part of that.

Make Halos a gravity well type, like Dead Asteroids are now. No resources, low population, but lots of hit points and an awe-inspiring number of tactical slots. Enough tactical slots to put a lot of superweapons on it. After all, no one in the galaxy today can make them, and they deserve to be tough.

that was my original though.  except make it the gas giants halo orbits and make it so there is only enough room for 1 halo in tactical slots.  but alas its spammable and halo is meant for flood containment not for being defended

After reinstalling sins and stumbling across the CCS model on page 23 by EzraeilBeatus i decided to try and make it work.(never did any modding that involves models or textures before) 3 days later i got it working as an insanely overpowered replacement for the illuminator. If anyone wants it ill upload the mod.(first time texturing anything i know it sucks)

Even though the CCS is a capital ship (literally Covenant Capital Ship) it doesnt feel right seeing them 1 or 2 at a time since in halo you find instances where you see dozens or hundreds at once. Right now i have it configured as a(overpowered) cross between a LRM and HC with less hp/shield than a destra but almost double the range of the illum for the plasma cannons. The beams are pulse lasers and are classified as laser in the gameinfo. They can shoot at strike craft but quite poor at it compared to a flak ship. Of course it wouldnt be complete without the ability to glass planets so i slapped a modified vasari beam on the front(it has lower damage than a purge vessel and has to get more than twice as close to the planet to fire)

I copy/pasted a few pieces of the vasari phase missile effects from their LRM then changed the travel effect to make target tracking plasma weapons.
