Halo MOD?

Halo MOD?

Ok so I am just throwing this idea out there because I am a Halo fanatic and I think that this game could easily incorporate the Halo universe into it. I am not a very good designer but I can provide support and more ideas. There are already two races that could easily be changed into the Humans and the Covenant( TEC and Advent). All we would have to do would be to change ships some and add  gauss guns to most TEC Cap ships. I know this might take a long time but if it means that we will finally have a Halo space combat game then it will be well worth it.

He said he's not a Halo FANATIC, not a fan. You can be a fan of Halo without being a direhard fanatic like us.

Anyways, Heaven I liked the UNSC Shipyard, but I didn't like the Covenant. I mean, I just don't see how you could make a ship in that giant flat ring. Where would you store the supplies and materials? Where would the ship actually be during construction? Just doesn't seem right.

Also, I suggest for both shipyards you make them really big, and put a couple static ship models in them. Shipyards can create multiple ships at any one time, and while you might not do that ingame, you can get that look by making it big with ship models in them. So you can see like a Marathon and a couple frigates docked with the shipyard and look uncompleted. Then you have an empty berth where the ship you're building is constructed.

This suggestion is for Canada, if you get a shipyard model like the one I suggested above, I'd make it so it could build all ships, even fighters. As all sci-fi shipyards, are able to build virtually any ship. Well, for the most part. Just make the thing really huge (Like 4-5 times the size of a Sins cap factory) and powerfull, maybe even some defenses. Would look awsome.

I love the UNSC shipyard, with all those ships under construction. Still don't like the Covenant one... just doesn't seem like a shipyard.... Actually, it seems like a Sins shipyard which I never really liked. I unno, just seems to.... plain I guess. Maybe somethign like the UNSC shipyard for the Covenant, I don't mean it's looks. Just.... it actually looks like a shipyard, that can house tons of supplies and personell to build the ships. Maybe, for the covies, you could make something kinda like High Charity, a giant space station with lots of covie ships under construction like the UNSC one.

Also, for the UNSC shipyard. Make sure the static ship models are missing like, hull sections and whatnot. If they're all just parked there, completed, it looks like a dry-dock, not a shipyard. Also, maybe put some kind of "casing" around the ships. Like walkways so the workers and maneuver supplies and whatnot around the ships, allthough I spose it's not very necessary in space, but it could add to the whole construction feel. And lastly, maybe move the ships so they aren't all looking the same way, don't imagine they'd all face the exact same way when being built. These all just more asthetic suggestions, though, and so don't need to be listened to at all D:

acually I'm gunna make one based on, Unknown system, above asteroid K7-49, from Operation: Prometheus in the Ghosts of Onyx.

you know what might work? Unyielding Hierophant from First Strike, the refit station that John's team had to take out here's a description, courtesy of Halopedia

The Unyielding Hierophant is shaped like an eight, with two tear-drop shaped bulbous sections connected at the center, each 15 kilometers (9.3 miles) long which makes it 30 kilometers (18.6 miles) total. A rotating ring is connected to the central hub, and is used by Covenant cruisers and carriers to dock with the space station.

maybe have those partially constructed ships connected to the rotating ring

Bad news: I tried to import it into xsi and it didn't show up. When i took it into Blender AND THEN tried to take it into xsi it crashed xsi. So I might just have to use this as a concept and make one on my own. I'll need to wait for my own ship models to be completed for that though.

That just looks weird, but then again it's alien so it makes sense. It all seems good, materials and personell stay in the asteroid and go up to the construction rings to build the actual ships. Only suggestion though, is to remove to big purple layer. Maybe put like, ropes of purple attaching the ship to the ring, ala tractor beams, but that giant purple layer makes it look a little goofie. Other then that, looks good.

P.S. Don't forget this is space, all the construction rings don't have to be horizontal, I'd recomend putting them all so their "underside" faces the asteroid.

I just went onto google and searched "Covenant Shipyard", and that came up. It is origonaly a UNSC shipyard tho...

I like the K7-49 Construction things better. Everytime you make a Frigate/Cap. Factory, one of those elevator things apear, or are constructed with it.

i like that one beter then the floating city
End of quote

I don't, that thing doesn't really look like a shipyard to me. Heavens floating city looks like what a shipyard would be. I mean in space, depending on the shipyards location, people would live there aswell as work there. It'd have to store supplies, have docking bays, and construction yards. The one Chicken post just doesn't have a look that'd caitor to these requirements.
