Ok so I am just throwing this idea out there because I am a Halo fanatic and I think that this game could easily incorporate the Halo universe into it. I am not a very good designer but I can provide support and more ideas. There are already two races that could easily be changed into the Humans and the Covenant( TEC and Advent). All we would have to do would be to change ships some and add  gauss guns to most TEC Cap ships. I know this might take a long time but if it means that we will finally have a Halo space combat game then it will be well worth it.

The frigate factory I posted would be near one of the orbital elevators, like the Tiara in Contact Harvest. Supplies and workers would be brought up those. But I still like heavens better anyway

I figure this is important: How powerful is the SMAC going to be in comparison with the average MAC(MACs are going to vary depending on ship size, right?)?

it would be awesome if the singleships either longswords, or sparrowhawks (http://halo-gamespot.wikia.com/wiki/Sparrowhawk) and the big ships (like the destroyer) were reskinned to the halo destroyers, etc. and yes, i am a huge halo fan. beat all games at least once, read all books at least twice, etc. etc.

well the super macs fire about 20,000 ton slugs of metal into space at near light speed......lol so i say that they would be about...hmm i dont know....maybe about 30-50 times stronger :) btw a good covie ability is plasma bombardment, and for the humans it would be something like MAC slug salvo, where the ships all fire their mac guns, even tho this would be almost impossible, if not impossible, to do, but you would have to somehow make is to that you would have to be selecting the entire fleet, and the orbital mac guns. plus someone should make something where there are mac platforms like cairo station, and have the covenant attack randomly. now THAT would be cool

Isn't the sparrowhawk an atmospheric based aircraft?

Ur second post though, has some really good ideas. I always wanted to have a ship travel between planets without using a phase jump. It would be for a very good screen shot...
Even though it would be probobly be impossible to do, it would be cool to have Covy players not know where any planets are until they explore, like they have to "Guess"...
Just an idea, some of you might not like it, plz don't slag me or pacorocks...

"Super" Magnetic Accelerator Cannon
Main article: Orbital Defense Platform
A UNSC Defense Platform typically mounts a much larger and more powerful version of the standard MAC, nicknamed "Super MAC" or "the Big Stick."

welll... yea it is, but that would still look cool......
and thats a good idea, just like in halo the covies dont know were the planets are, they have to guess. another cool idea would be for the covie battleships to put tracking devices on ships, like in the battle for Sigma Octanus VI. that would be cool

as far as the covies not know where earth is the only way do to do that is to make a linear galaxy mean ing earth is at one end covie homeworld is at another of course it wouldnt be straight make it more realistic
now for the fireing at one time i have been messing around with abilities and you you remeber the fleet abiliting where they can all jump at same time im trading everything out so they would be able to

Quick Question havent posted in a while. Not sure if Canadaman Remembers me, But here goes Umm will the SMAC Station have longsword Bomber hangers? Or Pelican bays something like that?

we know there are no point defence weapons on the SMAC but as for hangers thats a good question. Even if they dont have hangers of their own we know that even frigates have fighters and pelicans. seeing as you will need to have ships around your SMACs to keep them alive from enemy fighters anyways i dont think it would be much of a loss.

"In addition to numerous small craft bays, there are two docks for larger ships, such as freighters, or even frigates. These docking bays could possibly be used to hold Longsword fighters used to protect the station from hostile spacecraft."

Taken from the Orbital Defense Platform article on the Halo wiki. "Small craft bays" and "docking bays", and they flat out say the docking bays may hold Longswords, and odds are the "small craft" ones would aswell. So I'd slap in a couple squadrons on the SMAC platform.
