Merging Silveressas and Sins Plus v1.2b

 Hello,

I've been trying to combine Silveressas and Sins Plus v1.2b mod for playing at home however since i'm brand spanking new at modding im clueless as to where to begin.  If anyone can provide some suggestions it would be most appreciated.  Specifically what I have tried currently is transfering the Sins Plus mod files into Silveressas folder but being that changes were made into the gameplay files i dont know how to compare or merge the two folders together without overwriting the changes made to both of them.

I have included a document with my mod detailing the files that are CHANGED in it. New files that are added by it are not listed, but they will not be replaced.

Basically, you need to start with mine as a base, then copy over everything from Silver's into the correct folders. Do this by selecting the files not the folders. Then you will need to replace everything apart from the files I have listed.

If you use the 'Move Here' instead of 'Copy Here' you will then be left with the files I have listed.

Alternate Method: You could do this another way by selecting all but the files I have listed, but that way leaves no room for error if you move them in and click replace all.

With the files that are left, use a Text Comparer (free ones are available on Google), and 'merge' the files remaining together.

I hope that is enough, because, quite frankly, if that makes no sense to you, you shouldn't be attempting to do this yet. You will need to get accustom to the files you are working with first, and use the tutorial(s) including with the Mod Tools.

Good luck.

I was looking to do this as well, and I understand everything up to the part where you say that one should "merge" the files that have been changed in both mods. For example, you have made changes to the "Player" Psi, Tec, and Phase files, and so has Silveressa. So how do we get her changes on your files without losing changes you might have made that are in a different part of the file? Is there a specific type of text-reader that can do this? I have EditPad Pro. Anyway, sorry if I'm asking too much, but I really love your planet's, and her gameplay changes, and I'd rather not make all her changes manually to your files if I can help it lol ;p

Sigh...
From the post above:

End of quote

Most will do the job, and I have very few changes to the Player files, so they should be an easy example to merge.

Okay, where I got confused was that I DLed a text comparer that only lets you look at the files and can't merge them. Then I found one that merges for you. Thanks for the help Uzi, hopefully I don't f this up lol
