How to find what you want in the modding category.

I noticed all the posts here are hard to find.
In order to make finding certain posts or topics easier, start your post with different categories in order for certain people to find certain posts.

For example:

You just made a mod, so you would name your post:
[MOD] Name of post
Also, you may want to include "TC" if your mod is a total conversion mod.

If whatever you're working on is something you want people to see as you work on it, try:
[WIP] Name of post
Obviously, Work In Progress. Make the post clear and change it to [MOD] once finished!

You want some help with modding or starting to mod. Then:
[TIPS] Name of post
The post name should be clear with what you need help with...

You have problems with a mod or something like that. Maybe it's buggy or causes minidumps. If so:
[HELP] Name of post
If you know what the problem is but have no idea to fix, make your post's name what the problem is.

You have an idea for a mod, and need some other people to do it or support you. Then:
[IDEA] Name of post
The idea should be the name of the post. Not something like "looking for people to help with my mod" etc.

You have a general question concerning mods or modding. Label it:
[Q&A] Name of post
Try to make the name of the post clear without being long.

Made a tool? Try:
[TOOL] Name of post
The post name should be what the tool is or does.

Got a map or a map maker? Try:
[MAP] Name of post
[MOD/MAP] Name of post

You really don't know what you're looking for. Try:
[?]

This is only a general criteria... and my idea may sound all high and mighty, but seeing as this forum is relatively new and already becoming difficult for people to find what they want, this should make this forum a bit easier to navigate. Note this may change.

Other than that, happy Modding and SINNING!

No but I mod enough and have seen enough forums that organization is very good.
Also I like to hide my age so no one thinks not to listen to me because I'm "too young" or something.... age is no factor when the idea is sound.

It's actually a good idea, just don't think it's enforceable though.

If people just stick to it, that should make things easier... remember that this is just general criteria... it helps.

NAGH bump

Also, if anyone wants to help with the Halo mod mentioned on this forum, please go there and see if you can offer help! I love the Halo spaceship designs...

Ok, firstly, please stop bumping. Twice in an evening is... a little excessive.
Edit: Three times in an evening.

What Kruelgor said is spot on, its a good idea but who and how will it be enforced? If everyone drove at the speed limit, there would be a lot less injures and deaths on the road. If everyone switched off lights (insert another energy saving technique here), then we would save a lot of resources and, if you believe it, slow global warming. You see where I'm going?

I put [MOD] in front of my mods, but other than that, I haven't made many posts. I hope it works and people abide by it, but I wouldn't keep your hopes up.

Yeah, I've been bumping too much... (impatience creeping in).
Still, this is a growing community, and as much as this isn't enforceable, it would make navigation easier and also make more mods available to the public so they can see the light of day. Not many mods are uploaded to the library because of bad server speed and because we have better download servers like FileFront and RapidShare. I'm sure that people who truly want to get their post recognized, especially modders and TC devs, will want to put [MOD] at the front of the post in hopes that it will be seen and used. With that, I end my bumping spree and just give what I think is a bit of common sense.

EDIT: Fluorescent light bulbs!
