How do they eat?

A question for Ironclad

Just curious here, but where are the Vasari's mouths? All of the artwork for them seems to neglect them. Most of the pictures have ridge-like metallic fittings all over their faces, one of them has the ridge-like features being seemingly organic (part of the face), and another... actually seems to have a mouth, but it's a large gaping hole and comes on a chin which hangs much further down than the rest of the Vasari featured in the artwork.

Soooo... what's the story on their mouths? How do they talk/eat? Anything else you want to say about the Vasari's biology is welcome too - it's always fun to know your chosen species!

They swim in the goo created when they drag off TEC and ADVENT soldiers to the special liquifers. So yes, they eat by osmosis.

They eat like flies, by dripping acidic mucus all over their food, waiting for it to dissolve, then sucking up the resulting glop. That's why they're so much fun at parties.

As for how they talk, they search the universe for really, really bad voice actors, then apply unspeakable alien tortures to them until they say what's required of them... badly.

Acutally they proberly do have mouths its just covered by there fancy costumes.

If not they inject nutrients directly into there blood streams. Yummy.

I think you may be barking up the wrong tree, Itharus. I very much doubt even Ironclad have got any more backstory than they have already given us, apart from the mysterios "threat" chasing the Vasari, and even then they might not have decided what that is yet. I think the design for the Vasari was simply a phonecall to the art department, "make us an alien."

I'm going to make an @$$ of myself and actually try to discuss the physiology of the vasari. Bear with me here, guys   

I think the reason they have those oh-so-overly jointed legs is because they were, at some point in time, flightless avians. That kind of zigzag leg structure probably meant that they relied on long-distance running over a flat, plains-dominated homeworld. As for the consumption, I'd probably bet that those layers of chitin on their faces conceal some kind of mouth.

Either that, or they photosynthesize. Who knows?

Photosynthesis wouldn't work, unless it was far more efficient than occurs on earth. Besides, while photosynthesis provides energy, they'd still require a source of nutrients, just like any plant

I doubt our interpretation of the word "extensive" is one and the same. Yes, there is a backstory, just to enough to establish why these races want to blow each other away, and nothing more, unless there is something I missed along the way.

Quite a bit you missed along the way... simply because it hasn't been released to the public doesn't mean they don't have it.

Perhaps Vasari don't eat. What if they soaked up UV rays like plants? What if their bodies processed some sort of chemical or compound in the air for nourishment? What if their mouth is somewhere other than on their face? I know it's easy to stick some pointy ears, fur, or markings on what used to be a person and then call it an alien, but not all aliens have to be human-like.
