What happens to allegiance in a huge empire?

How low can a planet allegiance go?

Just to see if I got this right- the lowest a planet allegiance can go is 25% unless it has enemy culture? What if your plating a huge map and your capital is like 10 systems away - what happens to the planets way the heck out there? Is it possible for an empire to grow TOO big?

They drop to 25% allegiance, producing less resources. 35% with a culture building and 45% for the advent with their cultural tech researched.

Agreeing with the above. 35% (with your own culture prevalent) is the highest it gets. There's definite diminishing returns for large empires vs. small empires. Build trade routes and refineries to keep credits and resources flowing in at a half-decent rate.

yea, once I get farther out I have to max out the logistics with trade centers and a broadcast center. Ah well, I suppose limitations are what makes the game a strategy game!

End of quote

If your empire is particularly strung out you can also move your capital to a terran world closer to its midpoint.

Doesn't necessarily have to be a terran, but same idea :P

Huge empire is where the advent allegiance bonus shines, that 10 extra percent is a lot when you compare 45% vs 35.
