Poor Cap-ship powers & Research options you would hope to see improved??

TEC - carrier - Missile battery seems no change per level from adding points????

Difficult to see missiles?? - would be nice for tec missiles to be more visible??

Advent - Mothership - Resurrection (sp?) -  Unclear use? Do you use on a ship just before it dies??
                                                                How long do you have to tranfer a crews exp? etc

       - Carrier  - Anime Tempest - no Duration in tooltip? lasts till end of cooldown?

       - Rapture Battlecruiser  - Domination - Captured ship returns to original player or advent player gets pernament control?

       - Revelation Battlecruiser - Clairvoyance a weak power? When you have scouts available?

       - Battleship   - Cleansing Brillinace -  says does 250 dmg over 8secs? or 250/s for 8secs?
        in testing found this to do 3k+ on some structures??

Deliverance Engine - no Duration in tooltip? How long does the boost to your own forces last?

Basic crew training reduntant reseach to Mass transcendence???


Vasari  - Devastator -  Jam weapons a weak power? advent carrier & kol both have anti-strikecraft dmg powers yet jam weapons seems weak whilst using same AM as kol n advent equivalent?

 - Carrier - Replicate Forces - no Duration in tooltip? (if advent domination is pernament on 90sec cooldwn Could reduce number of ships created or longer cooldown??? 180 at mo)
   
   Microphasing aura is a weak power? also seems no change per level from adding points??
   
   Scramble bombers - no Duration in tooltip?

 - Marauder - Phase gate - no real graphic so difficult to use?

                  - Subversion a weak power? 3 points for -45% build times when tec scout has similar probe ability (lasts 5mins longer) & tec research increase structures 33% & ships 50% so using this on a tech heavy player would take there structure/ship build speed to -12%structures / 5% for ships if attacking a ship building planet. most planets won't have shipyards?

 - Desolater - disintergration says 200 dmg over 8secs for 1600 and heals 188??? appeared to do 1200 dmg & heal 800??? Weak compared to advent battleship cleansing brilliance which does 3000 dmg in same time???

   Siege Platform seems no change per level from adding points???? Also a weak power and bit specific on top of assault spec ability??

 - Overseer - Phase detection reduntant (tier 5 research) when tier 1 research does same thing globally???

 - Subverter - Distortion field can lead to ship getting transported to middle of nowhere when it getsd used on ships mid jump?? Anyone else had this?? Hours later my ship still hadn't made it back to its grav well :(

Kostura Cannon - Seems weak compared to others? 400dmg to structures moderate stun? / <200 dmg to ships v.short stun??


Phasic cloak  - Needs longer duration or a toggle till cancelled / out of AM option?

Phasic Barrier  - Doesn't auto turn off so can stay on for a long time costing production despite system being safe
    Needs longer duration or a toggle till cancelled / out of AM option? or turns off after couple mins of no dmg??

No phase missile equipped cruiser?  - Phase missile main vasari tech yet none of there cruiser use it?

 

Any thoughts / comments on above appreciated or there other existing research / abilities anyone feels is in need of a boost???

I gotta say, that's the longest post I've ever seen use only question marks.

And I'd love to see a 'Cost' option for research; Small, Normal, and Large. Sometimes I want it to be a risk getting that new ship level, instead of "I'll just need to wait a few more seconds".

Ressurection is automatically triggered when a cap dies, including the mothership that has it I believe.

Clairvoyance is god damn amazing in close games.

domination captures forever I'm fairly sure, like vasari's replicate or whatever duplicates forever.

DPS is damage per second, so each second of the 8 seconds. Yes, it's a ton of damage.

Jam weapons weak? It's one of the best in the game!!

Microphasing weak? Again.. it's really damn good. Needs tooltip fixed though.

Marauder phase stab.. yeah it just goes immoble. It needs a very visable effect.

Subversion again.. one of the best abilities in the game.

Dissentagration is again.. per second.

Overseer eh yeah.. good point considering vasari get a tech to see EVERY jump ANYWHERE..

Why does every Vasari ship need phase missiles?..

Their cruisers use a weapon tech that most caps benefit from a lot.

theres a lot of info missing from the tooltips/infocards and the tooltips/infocards are misleading in many cases.

anyway just something you might find hard to answer (the rest of the info is across the forum):
capital ship abilities are only 75% as effective vs capital ships, this is in regards to what you observed with disintregtration.

Am pretty sure domination is a pernament but the extra ships produced from the vasari replicate ability die before the cooldown is up. Nice if they were pernament but at least put a duration in infocard?

And re:cleansing brilliance on advent battleship doin 250/s for 8secs should equate to around 2000 damge total not the 3k+ it is at mo? not complaining jus tooltip should be corrected to be in line with the stats of the ability? Appears to be 400/s for 8 secs at mo which tooltip doesn't Collaborate on infocard??

Didnt say every vasari ship needs phase missiles - just that 2 ships in the frigate class use it & all cap-ships yet none of the cruisers do despite it being there primary weapon. And a missile cruiser would be cool  :HOT:  give the other races a new cruiser (tec missile? & advent beam?) and then we all get an extra ship type  :D 

Anyway just a hope that tooltips/infocards will get an update to be made clearer  ;)

From what I've seen, if you enable autocast on Resurrection, it will just keep casting until the ships entire antimatter pool is gone. I've never found a good use for this ability anyway. It's unfortunate because it's a good ability in theory, it's just not entirely practical.

Making the TEC Battleship's flak power about twice as powerful could be handy, at the moment it's none too effective against Vasari vessels.

It increases the damage per missile of the missile battery. If you click on the missile battery itself you can see how much damage it does. I tested this by dropping a missle battery at rank 2 and then put a 3rd point into missile battery and dropped another missile battery to see what the difference was. At rank 2 the missile battery does 17 damage (or is that total DPS? I'm not sure how to interpret the damage numbers on the pop up menu.) per missile. At rank 3 it increased to 23 damage per missile.

The thing is people don't realize that it works. You don't need to have the progenitor around when the ships die. All you need is a low level capital ship and a progenitor with resurrect. Use that power, and your ship will automatically be upgraded to the highest level capital ship that you ever lost. It's got to be one of the best powers i know of.

It just takes a couple seconds to take effect.

Had that too. My ships jumped into the sun and got stuck there.

This ability is the biggest bull crap ever. If your planet gets attacked the propaganda-center stops working. If you didn't pay attention to the attack(may be only 3-4 Purge Vessels) the first thing you hear from that planet is that you're losing control soon. So your creditincome is from lets say 45% down to 10% AND the mines stopped working entirely.

i absolutly do not agree on this,
the ability lets u see a planet.. regarldess of troops sttationed there
VERY USEABLE when planning an attack on a system while not knowing what is there (fleet.. defense??) it also doesnt warn the enemy with a scout aproaching

Thanks Nreth for putting up a post that point out a lot of problems in the game.

I would also like to say that

Overseer: Mobile Phase detection (tier 5 research) when tier 8 research does same thing globally, thought it is easy to get, as it is on the same tier as RA, and there for I support what Nreth said. A way to fix this, is to change it, so insteand of detection alone, have it increase the time need to jump out of the same system for enemy ship. In other word add PJI to the paddive ability.


Phasic cloak : I have noted, that if you let the Jikara Navigator on auto explore, it uses up all it anti matter, so an easy fix, would to make it so that ever time it phase jumped, that it would be clocked. In other words make remove it form being Phase detected.

Phasic Barrier: This is one I have no ideal how to fix, but is a real problem. A fully upgraded Nano Weapons jammer, reduces damage just as much(as it increase the time to fire, and there for reduces damage over the same amount of time). Not only do I get a 30%(33% damage red. over time) increase in time need to fire there weapons, but also 45 % increase on bombardmet, and at the same time, the buildings are all working at the smae time. I don't think a time would real help the problem, but an answer would be to add a passive phasic barrier to the Nano weapons jammer, in which it could still work, but take a damage red. of 10%(maybe?).
