Problem with the Dark Fleet.

Hello all.

Iv been playing Sins for about a week now, and i am attempting my 1st large game as the Vasari with all the AI's on Hard.

After a hard fought battle i eventualy managed to secure 1 of 3 Star systems all to myself after nearly loseing the game in the 1st 2 hours.

I have been useing Phase gates, in my opinon, the best advatage the Vasari have. The problem is now that im im attacking a 2nd Star system and everything was going great until i reserched the Dark Fleet tech, now picture this situation.

I have my fleet maxed out, 1 Defending my home 1st star system and a bigger one attacking a very powerful enemy who is dug into a 2nd star system.  The problem occures when im having a large fight and my ships start dieing, Now rather than me rebuilding ships i lost in battle near to where the main fight is taking place the Dark Fleet keep poping up all over my empire in a compleatly different star system because one Hostile Scout ship shows up and takes a pot shot at one of my buildings.  This sucks up my Fleet capacity, and puts units that i could be rebuilding near the front line an entire Star system away.  The effect is so bad that it has effectively stoped my offencive operation.

The only thing i can think of is that i destroy all my phase gates i built in my inital Star system, but that still doesnt solve the problem of how i control how my fleet capacity is used for the system i do leave with phase gates! I looked in the game options and there doesnt apear to be anyway of switching this ''feature'' off.

Other than that im enjoying Sins alot.

Iron.

Returning Armada is an autocast ability of the phase gates. If you don't want it to give you ships, just click on your phase gates and turn the ability off (by right-clicking on the armada icon).

Keep in mind that even if you don't want the ships, you can scuttle them for free resources.

Returning Armada/Dark fleet adds an ability to your phase gates. It's set on auto-cast by default, but you can turn it off and keep it on manual. Just select your phase gates, and you'll see it :)

it is very good form to create a ctrl grp for all phasegates and keep adding new ones as you build em, that way you can easily disable all autocast or enable it.

Can you not assign a rally point to the phase gates?

You should definitely destroy all your phase gates. That sounds much more adventurous than right-clicking the button.
