C&C Kane's Wrath

I just picked this game up yesterday.  Seems quite fun although I haven't had time to really sink my teeth into it.  Anyone else play C&C 3 who might get this?

I pre-ordered it mostly for the Beta key to Red Alert 3, but so far I've enjoyed playing it a lot, even though its taking away from my SoaSE time.

I got it, I'm not much of an MP player for that kind of RTS so it was mostly for the story continuation - which seems quite a bit more disjointed :P The Global Conquest mode is fun though, a very different take from how most games do it because there aren't specific territories to attack.

I'm playing it for a quick action and stuff blowing up fix :P It's pretty good for that.

It's fun, but for some reason I (and, judging by the boards, tons of other people) have been getting a consistent crash at the end of the mission "The Betrayal of Kilian Qatar", and there's no fix for that I can tell. Has anyone else been having this issue or know how to fix it? It's making the game literally unplayable.

Check out the CnC forums today. KW patch 1.1 is now 4 months overdue and delayed again. The original and the expansion had huge potential but have been let down by poor patching, bugs, desyncs, disconnects and a very poor idea of game balance. The KW AI can't handle factions properly and the basic AI is a huge backwards step from TW which was at times very poor.

As a mark of the game's potential I've invested hundreds of hours playing TW/KW in Brutal & Hard skirmish mode and ultimately would not have got into SoaSE except for EA's dire post game launch support. TW/KW were both released incomplete. As a mark of the games failure the CnC3 store has been pulled by EA.

I liked C&C3 and Kane's Wrath. When I first heard EA was taking over the development I was pissed, but when it released, I was pleasantly surprised by it. It's not up there with the best C&C-games, but it is certainly not a stain on C&C's legacy, like say Escape from Monkey Island was to the MI franchise, and Fallout 3 seems to be for the FO-franchise.

I agree KW needs some balancing, though.
