SoaSE just pooped on me!

mini-what?!?

What is a mini-dump?

Why did I get a popup telling me one was saved?

Why did this event cause SoaSE to crash?

Why did the game take a mini-dump, anyway?

Why would this happen while watching a recorded game?

*Gives you an exasperated look and then screams in his best "Timon" voice:*

"WHAT'S GOING ON HERE?!?!?!"

Anyone want to fill me in???

IC/SD... if you're going to turn my computer into a fecophiliac, can you please be polite enough to atleast offer it a breathmint aftewards? Because this stinks -_-

Copied and pasted directly from the tech FAQ which can be found

Here

Please open Windows Explorer to the location below and see if your dump file is there.

XP: C:\Documents and Settings\username\Local Settings\Temp\Sins Dump

Vista: C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Temp\Sins Dump

If there is a minidump file present, please zip it up along with a copy of a dxdiag from your PC and a description of what you were doing when it occurred to support(at)ironcladgames(dot)com. Please note that you must provide your Sins of a Solar Empire serial number in your email to receive support (anti-piracy measure).

So it's pretty much just the same thing as when Windows crashes and asks if you want to send an error support?

...well... what's in it o_O?

What exactly am I sending to them? A dxdiag file would give them all the information (specs, drivers, etc) for what system I'm running... so what's included in this mini-dump file???

Paranoia is my only friend. Please calm my friend?

It tells them what files, code and etc were being used when it crashed. It'd basicly tell them if its part of the game that just got crazy somehow or if its outdated drivers or anything else.

In short, a minidump captures the state of the game when it crashed. It doesn't contain any personal info, other than your PC's hardware config and all. Someone correct me if I'm wrong, though.
