Where is strikecraft movement set?

While I'm not big on the modding scene, a friend of mine has expressed interest in making a mod where more ships constantly move in combat like the strikecraft do. Personally, I'm a big fan of this idea, because watching fleets stand still is not quite my idea of epic - Sins battles look much more awesome when fleets are on the move. However, we can't seem to find where the code that differentiates strikecraft movement from other ships' is, which is obviously hampering our attempts to see why they move so uniquely. Has anyone else looked into this?

As far as I know, it depends on having the entity type 'fighter' -> IE, it's a movement type hardcoded depending on the entity type.

I remember the devs back in a beta thread saying they didn't think the effect would work that well... I think strikecraft actually clip through all other ships. If all ships moved like strikecraft, they might have trouble with pathing if they weren't able to clip.

That said, I do wish there were a lot more movement in combat.

My guess would be: Hardcoded. Wait dor the final modding tools.
